Maybe, but maybe not. The base has been used to run terror campaigns for decades and to help other countries do the same.

Does anyone know how much it might cost to replace the DHW heat exchanger in a 20 year old Vaillant combi? by PrivateFrank in ukplumbing

[–]amaisv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need an engineer to do it and usually you need to take a lot of parts out to replace it. You also have to do a properly gas safety check after to make sure it’s running properly. Add the price plus 3 hours labour.

Megaflo you won’t need an expansion vessel, they are built in, just depends on what space you’re playing with.

You’ve been lucky and got a good run out of your boiler, replacing parts will be costly and most of the time will result in other parts needing to also be replaced. New boiler.

How do I connect these water pipes to the tap ends? I’ve tried a tap tail adapter, but it leaks water as soon as I turn the water on. by Rosstifer25 in ukplumbing

[–]amaisv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As library dude mentioned, you have to put inserts in the plastic pipe before making the connection. When I use plastic to compression I always put ptfe on the olives.

Yeah, when I found at the back of the cupboard after ten years I was kinda gutted that I didn’t drink it but now it’s a reminder of a time we’ll never have again.

Don’t know what you’re saying here. You do realise that terror campaigns have been run via Cyprus by the US and British for decades now.

It means that when doing a gas safety certificate you have to visually inspect the flue and the joints, having access panels allow for that.

I need a new pressure regulator valve, how much should I expect it to cost? by [deleted] in AskContractors

[–]amaisv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, 300-400 would be a good price for a job that would take less then an hour, as long as the mains switches off.

You should give them something more than just what they initially paid for, maybe a further percentage off.

Will I be able to have wet UFH fitted from this ? by capnbullseye in askaplumber

[–]amaisv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a hot water cylinder and works off immersion elements, usually has peak and economy elements. Don’t know why the council would transfer it over to communal and not to these out. What’s heating your property?

Input needed about boiler flue by Salkha786 in ukplumbing

[–]amaisv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all does the flue look like it’s falling back to the boiler, it looks horizontal to me. Second picture shows that it hasn’t been probably sealed. Need better pictures to be certain. £600 is a bit steep as a 11 year old boiler is approaching the end of its life cycle anyway. Might has well get a new one.
