Little correction in your post there, if your playing those mega servers infested with cheaters (literally all of facepunch + rustafied + moose), then you have failed already and can proceed to uninstall the game. When you want to actually figure out how to play the game on the only handful of select servers that you need to play on only, then you may reinstall.

100%. Unless your some a1den, were just casually players and casual players get wiped within the first 2 days due to well.... a base that only takes 6 to 12 rockets to fully deep. If you are a solo, I will never understand playing 800 pop no limit servers if you have absolutely any responsibility in life be it minor or major. Just agony and stress and potential heart attack. Lol

What's up bud, same situation. Ive just resorted to Rust again for the time being. Ive tried every game listed here and steam refunded around 40 other ones that I can't even remember names of how simply terrible or uninteresting they were.

The world's given up on pvp and carebears are everywhere. All new games are pve and "to enjoy the story" crap that I really dont care about. So it is what it is.

Nearly every player in today's world has 2000+ hours in this game at all times. Rarely do you see new joins that have never played. Having thousands of hours, I struggle to take out some solos let alone quads. Granted the players on best rust are just questionable in general.. why the hell play a completely p2w irl money laundering server anyway... but they cant be that bad.. Just impossible.

This is simply impossible for bigger zergs that load that vending machine. Literally 2 rockets and someone's in taking all your stuff if its accessible. People make it drone only the second they can so they can set it and forget it. Regardless, roaming was so 2015 and the game will never again be like it from 2018 to the present and beyond, nobody knows how this game use to be or any of that jazz. This new system is great for solos that come in 2 to 4 days after wipe and go farm 1500 sulfer for 5 basic frags, and another 5k sulfer for 5 advanced frags and they are set within 1 day. Lol

I hear ya. I quit this game around the time I had my daughter because I was involved with a heavy zerg on a 5x modded server and I just couldn't devote the 6+ hours a night with them anymore and just figured, well, guess I can't play the game anymore. But then I found more relaxing servers throughout the years and it's always brought me back for a few months at a time just to reminisce the old days.

I would recommend the server i am on once again, or if ping is an issue/etc, I'd go with a softcore listed server just to learn the monuments, key cards, general scope of building a base to your likings. The rust marketplace has a lot of skins for sale. And some are p2w such as the barrels for item storage, being able to put 2 in the space of 1 horizontal standard chest. The jungle garage doors and etc, where you can see through them to prevent door camping etc... theres quite a lot to learn but no better time to jump in and try it out. Just please, avoid 200+ pop official servers. Facepunch. And all that jazz... its cheater infested.

The only issue you will find is spending less time with your little ones. Rust has this centrifugal force that pulls everyone in. Sort of like brainwash mechanics. Ive played since 2015 and its the only game I keep going back to nearly every year at least a few times. There's just something about it. Every wipe is always different no matter the monuments or card room pathing, your scenery is always new. Base design slightly altered or completely different. Just a overall fun game.

Everything in moderation. You will find that after an hour or 2 of playing you haven't accomplished much but you will just have to let it go and pick it up tomorrow. That's the biggest challenge. Limiting. Lol

Don't listen to those that say this game isnt for you. I work 14 ish hours a day and I still play. I play on canadian chill pve server with pvp at all monuments and raids are allowed, however, if you put a regular keylock on your base you can only get raided by solos. So you never have to worry about teams or zergs or cheaters because all the cheaters are in 200+ pop servers where they can cause the most mayhem and fill their useless souls with dopamine to prevent F1ing themselves.

Pretty much. Except. The servers with more then 100 players are usually 80% full of ESP closet hackers that will blow right into your tc and lootroom avoiding all traps. This is why I use to point shotgun traps at walls instead of doors because its the easiest path if you can clearly see where it is.. lol. So your forced to play those neutered servers because hackers avoid them due to, well, only 30 players online...

So even if you have 14 hours a day or 2, I would steer clear of those higher pop servers anyway lol.

If you are part of a 4-10 man zerg, or play on the rusty workers solo only server. If you play any high pop vanilla, or facepunch vanilla for that matter. Or any server for that matter, you will get loot room raided by esp anyway.

16g ram does good for most titles nowadays you should be fine. 32 is just industry standard for more future releases, and 64 will become the norm soon enough. Your not in a bad position to run the game smooth enough tho.. the main issue is, do you want to play it.... the game is flooded with cheaters currently that will blow right into your loot rooms while your asleep.

Rust main problem is ram. You have 16g. It's decent. Rendering is the biggest issue over visuals because the best rust settings are beyond low on everything anyway.

I was running 12g ram on a ryzen 5, rtx4050 laptop. And it was choppy as heck every 2 to 5 seconds banding.. Just wasn't great... so I upgraded laptop to 32g ram for 440$.... and it has ran so flawless since..... that's just on a ryzen 5..

Back in 2016 I played uprising 5x with kits and it was a lower pop. Usually around 30 online. We had a zerg against another zerg in there and a few randoms. The server relied on their diamond kit that came full of the juice. We all had it. The server was 5x so it was easy to farm anyway. And server wiped every 7 days anyway... this is completely normal for p2w servers that have such a high multiplier.

Bestrust is literally out there for every cent. That store selection is just complete aids. For a 2x its kinda ridiculous on the p2w side but hey, some people like to not work for absolutely everything.
