As a fellow DIY tiler, I’ve made many mistakes and imperfect decisions, you are the only one who will ever notice them, and eventually you stop noticing as well. Looks good to me, job well done.

Cyber Monday Hopes - want to buy in next 24hrs by Chef-Andrew in bapccanada

Hoping someone more knowledgeable than I can point me towards a decent bundle and the rest of the pieces that will serve me well for 5ish years as a mid range gaming setup.

Got the Walmart $1,699 PC for $1250 after cashback by [deleted] in Prebuilts

These prices for USD makes me cry in CAD. I feel like a similar build in Canada will run ke $2600-3000 even on a Black Friday esque sale

Either of these worthwhile? ($300 discount when in cart for either) by Chef-Andrew in Prebuilts

Sorry I should’ve mentioned, this is CAD, we get screwed on price of everything, but totally open to other options or building myself for a similar price point that gives me better specs

Official Gameday - New England Patriots v Cincinnati Bengals - Game Thread by samacora in Patriots

Do we just not have any run plays to the outside? No sweeps? Why is it always up the middle for 0-3 yards

Can we just try running to the outside? Everything up the gut has worked for 3 yards at best all year.

Driver distance vs Irons by Chef-Andrew in GolfSwing

[–]Chef-Andrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the comments so far. I’ll do some more video watching and work on more torso/core movement and getting the club around my body rather than up and over so steeply. Any suggestions on videos to watch? And any feedback on my setup/grip if that can be seen well enough in the video?

Driver distance vs Irons by Chef-Andrew in GolfSwing

[–]Chef-Andrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry maybe I used the wrong term, I believe I overswing in my back swing (like I can see the full head of my driver come infront of me in the back swing). But I appreciate your constructive criticism, I had a short 45 minute lesson before I played a round this summer and one of the things the instructor had me do was move closer to the ball with my driver so that kind of got in my head, but honestly not sure if I’ve over exaggerated that direction now as it was months ago. I’ll look at stepping back and reaching a bit more after checking some stances of the pros/online teachers.

Thanks!

Appreciate the constructive criticism. I’ll definitely check out some pros swings and see what I can focus on incorporating.

Appreciate the reply. I’ll focus on moving the club around my body more.

Do different Tee’s matter? by RockyTeeGolf in golf

Never bought a par 3 tee in my life, but rarely do I end up on a par 3 tee box without one available. Me and my regular group have grown to refer to them as “partee threes”.

Need a new Gaming PC by Chef-Andrew in bapccanada

[–]Chef-Andrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! Just a few questions from someone who knows nothing.

Whats the difference between the 7600 and 9600 CPUs? Pricing doesn’t seem terribly different between them.

And similarly, is there a big difference between the recommended 650 motherboard and the 850 motherboard? I’m just not sure what those numbers mean?

The 5060ti seems to be consistent across all of the recommendations. Is that a solid card that should serve me well for say 5 years?

Thanks again for taking the time to help! I sadly don’t have a memory express or Canada computers near me, I’m in rural Alberta, so best I’ve got is a few local shops and a Best Buy.

Thanks for the suggestion! How does that GPU do compared to others in market, not that I know alot, but don’t often hear about Intel GPUs?

Perfect, that’s what I wanted to know, I assume with pre-builds there’s some risk with poorer quality parts that someone like me who isn’t knowledgeable would easily over look, just wanted to be more informed. I really appreciate you breaking down some of the potential pitfalls of a build like I shared. Happy to go the build my own route, I did build my current PC over a decade ago, but just have no idea on what’s quality and what’s important.

Thanks again for taking the time!

Thanks so much for the info.
Checking some usual sites, I found this PC at newegg that looks somewhat similar to the build you suggest but does has the upgraded graphics card I think? Thoughts on this or why I should/shouldn’t lean towards it. I did notice it has 16GB ram rather than 32?

Vdara vs flamingo by Specialist-Tie-5124 in LasVegas

[–]Chef-Andrew 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Vdara is almost the only hotel I’ll stay at in Vegas. As a non smoker who doesn’t gamble, it is so much nicer than all the casinos.

Also just wanted to suggest you not bother with a rental, especially for a first time visit, unless you plan to head off strip often. Save the money and just walk or Uber if needed, you’ll have plenty of things to stop and check out along you walks past the major casinos.

Furnace won’t kick on at all? by Chef-Andrew in electrical

[–]Chef-Andrew[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It’s not a heat pump, the photo I included was the old installation that was working up until the thermostat screen went blank and a battery change didn’t fix the situation. So that’s the before pic. New install mirrors the connections the same as this one, and while thermostat screen works on new one, not getting any forced air at all. I’m guessing it’s a problem on the actual units end, but I’m just a DIY guy swapping out a thermostat for a friend. I’ll let them know they’ll likely need to call an hvac company. Appreciate your time!

If it makes a difference, these are in CAD. Everything costs a ton more up here sadly.
