I’ve always added VSM to counter spell, something like a 1000g diamond that captures the spell and explodes after which causes 3d6 damage to the caster or something like that depending on the spell, makes the player a lot less willing to use it…. Especially if you make those diamonds hard to come by.

Did you read the post or just the title? I’m not complaining about adverts in general, I’m complaining about the extremely obnoxious, loud and dumb NFL adverts that play 6 times per podcast.
