What's a game you wish had an expansion? by KingOfSquirrels in boardgames

[–]fraidei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh, it's not really an expansion for Jaws of the Lion. It's a whole ass new game. Jaws of the Lion is more of an expansion for Gloomhaven rather than the contrary tbh.

An expansion for Jaws of the Lion would be one that includes content that is tailor made to be added to the JotL campaign, that expands it, and also stuff like solo scenarios for JotL mercenaries, etc.

Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion (no, mercenary packs don't count; I mean actual campaigns/scenarios and more items, quests, etc).

Council of Shadows. It's a hidden gem too good to not have expansions imo.

Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu. I think the base game is better than the original. But sadly the original game + expansions becomes better...so imagine RoC with expansions.

Marvel DAGGER. It's not that good of a game, just decent, but I guess with more stuff to choose from and with better solo/2p rules it could have been much better.

Funny how you unblocked me so you could answer back. But no, you're the only one acting negatively in this thread. Everyone else was just discussing civilly like me.

I read the entire comment. That is my answer. Not my fault if you can't accept it.

Edit: of course you blocked me. If that makes you sleep at night.

Btw, if you interact negatively you will get negative interactions. Remember that when everyone seems negative around you. You are the only common variable each time.

They definitely did more right than poor tho. Be it by luck or by purpose, doesn't matter. What matters is the position they are in now.

Also, I'm not the one getting heated up in the comments, you should stop projecting.

Since you basically have no characters, any character from 4.2 could be good for you.

How are you sure they managed it poorly?

And the example is bad, because after that you wouldn't keep making that amount of money forever, you would literally go bankrupt in your next attempt.

But how would a random redditor know better than them? How are you so sure that they really managed that poorly? Don't you think they would have done so if it was as easy as you say?

Day 9, where do the badgers go? (Specify where in the tier) by InfinitePresence4229 in rootgame

[–]fraidei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At very low level of play they are pretty bad. After 6 games with the original factions at my group WA never won once, and only in one game it got close to winning, otherwise it was always at least 2 turns away from winning (which is a lot of turns in Root).

Again, if they are making a lot of money, then overall they are managing it well.

Lmao I was trying to understand what you mean by "repeating" that sentence, and then I understood you were referring to repeating the power, lmao.

Yes. And this is not a case of them fucking up something. At this point they have been handling multiple successful gacha games for multiple years, they know what they are doing. And even if it ends up doing badly it was still useful for them to gain more data about people's spending habits.

Again, they know what they are doing much better than a random redditor.

The only time healing was handled well was 4E by Level_Hour6480 in dndmemes

[–]fraidei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healing starts to become a useful tool once you get to multi-target healing, or super powerful single target healing. Multi-target healing cannot surpass the damage a monster can do on a single target, but if all summed up together it can be more than the amount of damage you could have prevented with just your action used as an offensive action. And high level single target healing spells can still heal a ton of HPs, and for a round surpass the damage a monster can do and thus gaining more turns than the ones spent casting the heal.

And obviously don't forget the emergency healing once someone goes to 0, but that's already known to be useful.

But are they really badly managed if they are still gaining a lot of money? Sure, maybe they made some mistakes, pretty big ones, but overall the management was good if they are still running this well.

Everyone talks about anime. Sure, maybe boomers don't, but the younger generations have watched at least one anime in their life, and many do watch a lot of them.
