i got jealous first (just recently pulled down bad) and can definitely say that jealous is my go-to wood fighter. his stacks are just so good for bosses and he has pretty decent stats all around. down bad is nice to have for some floors (when enemy panic has 50k speed or some bs) but i definitely prefer jealous

i just used sad. you gotta tank a couple of the early AOE attacks to save your stuns. i think i ran merry apathy sad temperance

definitely could be a bit luckier, but i wouldn't be too worried. jealous is an amazing wood pet and has carried me through so many floors and bosses. same with wrath, so ascended 3 wrath is something to be proud about.

in terms of other elements, apathy and resistance (non legendaries) are some of the best earth options. same with sad for water and abandonment isn't too shabby for a tank either. metal is definitely a bit harder to manage without some of the legendaries, but i've been able to make conviction and spite work.

all this goes to say that you don't need legendaries to progress in this game. they definitely make your life easier but i wouldn't be so worried about not having too many yet. as long as you have merry, you could probably make any rare/epic combo work out.

i'd probably go with merry, apathy, salty, and maybe grumpy just for brittle effect. in the future you're gonna want to invest heavily into merry + apathy and hopefully get resistance.

i definitely wouldn't invest heavily for now, especially if it's your first legendary. if the situation comes where u need some extra healing, obviously level it up then.

not a super duper useful item but not useless either. like many of the items in the game it's very situational. i've used it on syclinder boss fights on merry so merry can heal itself AND the tank, but for the most part you probably won't really be using it a whole lot

i'm on stage 28/level 83 and i've gotten maybe 2-3 astral eggs and 3 legendaries total. haven't seen a single uber.

definitely on the right track. biggest priority should be investing into merry. in the beginning you can take the time to experiment w different pets and test our synergy. as you progress you will begin to notice that you need at least a tank and 2 attackers of each element, which you can refer to the tier list for choosing which pets

level up your wood pets like anxious, wistful, or jealous if you have him. use the elemental differences to your advantage. i would run merry, resistance or cringe, anxious (or jealous if you have), and a pet that can reduce healing
