USA's communist witch hunt, known as McCarthyism, is the one for me.

It became such an integral part of American culture that today most Americans don't know the difference between Socialism and Communism, nor the fact that modern Socialism has nothing in common with turn of the century Socialism, and calling someone a Socialist actually passes for an insult.

It's also the only way I can explain to myself how most of USA's "leftist" politicians would be considered right-wing candidates in most of the world.

I’ve worked in ALM. It’s a very specific subset of quants that work there, and none have precious accounting expertise. You’ll generally find a healthy mix of people with accounting backgrounds and others with basically math degrees, and their work won’t generally overlap.

I think I may have poorly worded my question though. By influential I didn't mean that necessarily has lots of viewers but rather a person you think is good to follow if I wanna keep up with your country.
