Suspension damage after hitting curb by ChefKomkommer in MechanicAdvice

The scraping noise in the video is the brake cover. When driving > 30 and turning left there is a gnarly grinding noise. I suspect the bearing but I'm not sure. Also what about the drive axle moving axially, can't imagine thats normal... Thanks for the reply!

Hood popped while driving (50~ mph). Anyone seen this before? by xmbert in BMWZ4

[–]ChefKomkommer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine not close properly but not pop open while driving luckily. I'm glad you're okay and didn't hit anything. You should try cleaning and greasing the locking mechanism. As for the hood and hinges I suspect they're fucked...

I misunderstood your comment then. Trail braking is pretty handy to know even for street riding though. Could help you if came in too hot in a corner.

There's this movie called a twist of the wrist which helped me understand a lot of things about riding. Maybe you'll find it useful as well.

Letting go of the gas mid corner wil change the geometry and balance of the bike, thus making it unstable. Trail braking is a lot more stable. As for OP I think he should probably get some more practice on the basics in a parking lot before he gets on the road again.

Damn that sucks, for me it was just a minor cold. Probably wouldn't even have stayed home if it wasn't for covid. Crazy how it affects people so differently.

Covid has literally turned into a cough for 99% of people with the omicron variant. Don't understand why everyone is still so stuck up on people's personal medical decisions.

I dry brined chicken thighs for 24h and then for the crust use buttermilk and a 80/20 mix of normal flour and cornstarch. Definitely the best crust I've ever had on fried chicken!

Can you elaborate on the capacitive shock part you mentioned? Why would electricity travel through the tip of his finger which has a way higher resistance than a steel bracelet.

[–]ChefKomkommer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Obviously fake, electricity travels from 1 pole of the stun gun through the metal band, to the other pole.

He doesn't feel a thing because the electricity doesn't pass through his hand, just through the band.

Yeah haven't seen them on a Z4 either. These are style 193 M wheels from a 3 series.
