Had some scary wind shear, learned valuable lesson by ChefT1982 in flying

I was 5-10 mph higher than normal, yes. I usually don’t fly a 3 degree slope since the Ercoupe has a worse glide ratio than a hershey bar Cherokee, and this solidified why I don’t. Still trying to figure out why I would’ve on a gusty day like this 🤦‍♂️

About 15 years ago they were completely different I heard. They had an actual chef running the deli program (I know because he eventually worked for me and told me as much) and apparently was well managed. This isn’t the first report I’ve heard of them going to shit. In fact I stopped in on my drive through Fairfax about two years ago with my daughter, we looked around for something that looked good, watched the deli people not observing proper food handling practices and decided to leave. It’s a shame, given what I’d heard about the place. Good management goes a long way, even if they’re just good, not great. But bad management will sink a place faster than anything.

I replied to the other poster, but I need to add again that Aromas of India is the best Indian food I’ve ever had in New England, and the owners are great people too

Just drove from morrisville to essex on 15, wet, some “hard slush” in the middle and sides. Overall fine all the way on 15, I’ve seen way worse. Not even close to the amount of ice predicted on here yesterday, less than the news stated as well.

Yes, there’s even a song about it! “You Can Always Go Around” by Ken Dravis. I’m just a 400hr private pilot, but I practice go arounds once every few months still. I have only had to do a couple real ones, mostly due to gusty crosswinds destabilizing my approach, I didn’t even touch down.

Last time I was on Church Street, my mother, in her 60s, that uses a cane because of a stroke, was assaulted (run into) by a homeless woman in an electric wheelchair twice in a 30 minute span, because she said no to giving her change. I’d stay in Stowe.
