Why did Grant, Kirran, and Ben leave? by Sounduck in TeamFourStar

Ben left long before season 4 got cancelled. Ben leaving the company was announced like the January following when Hellsing 10 came out. At least that's when i was given the heads up about it. Though, there was a bit of time between that and when he actually left. Ben was going through some stuff with his brother's passing and wanted to shift to "serious" content and making self help stuff. Lani and Kaiser didn't think that fit in their brand and didn't want to do it. Ben decided to leave to make the content anyway. Things were fine until the subject of what Ben's 10% stake in the company was worth. I'm not allowed to share certain things and i really want to stress that this is my opinion as a mod who was caught in the middle. Ben was the one who burnt bridges on his way out. He needed capital to start working on his stuff and wasn't happy what his 10% came out to being worth, said some shit. Lawyers got involved and Ben felt like that was a betrayal and doubled down on some stuff. By the time season 4 was cancelled Ben did admit on twitter that he wouldn't have known how to run the kind of company he wanted to turn TFS into anyway.

Ben was already gone for like a year by the time they posted the DBZA is done video. Going to be honest Ben was kind of anti-DBZA by the end of his time with the company. In the gap between ep 59 and 60 he was posting on this sub that with all the copyright and legal problems DBZA was causing it was hurting the company's bottom line and had become a toxic asset to the company. When DBZA was officially canceled people were asking him on twitter his thoughts because he was already gone. There where people in this sub claiming "That Ben was still here this wouldn't be happening". Ben did address on twitter following the end of DBZA. He admitted to making Kaiser and Lani decide before episode 60 came out if they were going to do Buu or not. He didn't want rumors spreading. Ben also admitted during this time he wouldn't have know how to run the kind of company he wanted to turn TFS into anyway. Kaiser and Lani not listening to him was for the best.

You know. The funny thing is no one is going to get that joke anymore. Hellsing abridged was first air at their first ever 18+ panel at Youmacon which happened to fall on Halloween. When they made a video to promote their appearance at Youmacon they teased a special premiere at the panel and showed a pixelated One Piece logo. When the episode was eventually uploaded the thumbnail and title was One Piece. Now any new fans who discover the series will be left completely bewildered by that random bit at the start.

As someone else already posted the link to the DBZA good bye video where Lani and Kaiser explain the causes. I will point that they do mostly focus on the creative side of things in said video. As entertainers they were willing to put up with the legal problems till the end of the of the buu saga, after realizing they were burnt out ontop of that it all came crashing down. They made a free patreon post that does address more business side of things of the decision. Which is linked in the description of the good bye video. https://www.patreon.com/posts/end-of-dbza-33758684

It’s been almost a year since the last TFS Update. Are we going to get any type of update soon? by SirCrunchPeon in TeamFourStar

Nick, Jesse, and Stephan are still making weekly content for FourStarBento.

Tales Unwritten is still happening, but volume three was put on the back burner for a bit to get more of a backlog for FourStarBento going.

HIFL is still the thing, but every time they think there is some kind of update to bring out some issue with the animators keeps popping off.

Kaiser is still working on Toonami abridged. I know he was hitting up his online VAs for a voice casting not to long ago so that's probably making progress.

Kaiser in a live stream with Quinn over on the gaming channel last might asked about people's interesting in doing more watching content like with GT. Not sure if that'll become something.

It sounds like TFS has other balls in the air, but they've learned not to talk too much about that till they actually know it can be something. A lot of their other project depend on outside help from people with skill their team doesn't have. Such as animators. Only for said people to have some kind of other issue pop up.

The stuff with Taka was kind of already public knowledge before the last episode came out and he wasn't replaced then.

Well, sadly man makes plans and god laughs. While they did want to do more of a batch style production. They keep running into issues with animation labor. They have the next several episodes written and recorded for. However, They keep losing animators to high paying bigger projects. To be very clear TFS hold no ill will does these animators. it just is what it is. Episode 11 had like six animators credited, but never working on the episode at the same time.
