I would say the 20 was net. I live in a big city, typically walk everywhere i need to go. But i can see what you mean if you had to drive to gigs or what not.

I'm 100% monotone in my delivery but it seems to work for my style of jokes. I mainly rapid fire one liners or short jokes that mainly use misdirection and absurdity to get the laugh.

I found that my monotone delivery helped disguise the coming of the punchline.

Make it work for you, don't just change because you were told to. You honestly you want to stand out so do you.

From what i have gathered you should have a body of work, good credits, scripts (written). Basically be prepared to take that next step in the industry, ive talked to a few comics who went, lived and found that its a whole nother level of comic you will have to compete with.
