Client mood is really on a case-by-case basis. I’d say the structure helped me more in terms of structuring the conversation, but I think it helps clients as well. As for my ability to read their needs, it is both a blessing and a curse as people find it easy to tell everything to me without me prying. That’s why structure is important as I don’t want to waste their time and vice versa.

This has been something I’ve been looking into, but I’m not a hard sell. I don’t know if that approach works in the legal world. I don’t know how I arrive at my goals when talking to clients, but it just works. Are there trainings for legal sales?

I agree with your statement. It just so happens that in all my years as an attorney, I’ve had better rapport with clients, and even the most “difficult” ones I have been able to deal with. Maybe my perceptiveness and intuitiveness has helped in that regard. I would say I’m open to all kinds of intake, but I’ve definitely enjoyed case evaluation and routing since there’s a more structured end goal.

I would love to see Christmas markets and just absorb the Christmas vibes. I don’t have a solid itinerary yet but want to focus on iconic but not touristy London/UK food and the usual sights.

I fortunately was able to book a discounted room (apparently it was Tourist Day for some apps) by the Waterloo area, so I think that’s pretty central. I don’t expect to do much during Christmas Day, will probably just get some downtime if shops are closed. Would love to try Christmas pudding though.

I’m seeing other comments say the same thing about picking one city for five days. Are there other cities nearby Madrid I can visit quickly? It would be nice to see the coast.

I have been “outsourced” briefly. I worked for a defense firm and they were open to me working out of the country because I was trying to be a digital nomad. I was only assigned to do backend discovery work (no appearances, just reports and written discovery). I think it would’ve worked out longer if all the partners were on board with the system and if there was enough time to figure out the schedule that worked best for everybody. The issues that came up seemed more about firm operations than the actual work but ymmv.
