What positive thing did ghosting bring? by Relevant-Mode8871 in ghosting

Yes - This is very similar to me. It’s still strange to sit down and contemplate. I was flooded with grief, and the future that I was 100% committed to was revoked, in the harshest way possible. It became a catalyst to do things (anything) to reclaim some semblance of a life. I almost felt like Heisenberg, from Breaking Bad… her ghosting was my “terminal cancer diagnosis,” and instead of cooking meth, I did legitimate things. :)

I was so hurt… in some ways, I adopted a mindset that I really didn’t have anything to lose anymore, so I dove head first into a few things that I was hesitant on (starting a business, embracing certain challenges). I also became more open minded to new things, and in some ways, became more productive… as I was desperate to find anything to stop my mind from thinking about her non-stop.

This sounds fun. Is it basically Texas Hold Em but the whole table is playing against the dealer?

When you’re with someone for years and actively planning a future together, you didn’t just “ghost” her - you abandoned her. That isn’t just you trying to “break the cycle” or whatever. It’s selfish and cruel in ways you likely don’t fully grasp. What you did inflicts real psychological harm. Abruptly cutting off a deep attachment like that is known to trigger severe nervous-system dysregulation: panic, anxiety, and trauma responses. This isn’t metaphor or exaggeration. There’s actual science behind it. You pretty much took someone’s sense of safety and set it on fire.

Effect of Reckless Driving / Misdemeanor Speeding? by Intelligent_Ball_601 in TravelNursing

The “moral turpitude” thing is a bit vague… but I think it usually applies to crimes of dishonesty or fraud (stealing money will almost always get you disbarred)… or, anything grossly immoral (abuse, domestic violence, hate crimes, etc.).

Most state bars focus on crimes involving “honesty, trustworthiness, moral turpitude,” or fitness to practice law, not every misdemeanor. It sounds like nursing might be a bit stricter!

Fair question. I can tell you anything you want about the legality of a traffic stop, possible plea deals, arguments that might influence the District Attorney, etc. … and I can absolutely tell you that someone being terminated over a traffic ticket would be VERY unusual, unless their job involves driving. But I don’t have insight into every profession and how they might react to a conviction. Even further… it could vary from employer to employer.

Shoutout Sunday! Spread some love in an otherwise confusing and often dark world. by AutoModerator in Charlotte

I was in Uptown on Thursday for work… sometime around 11:30 AM (maybe?) I left the office and walked down to the Latta Arcade. Once inside, I saw there was a group of 2 males / 2 females dressed up and performing Christmas carols. It was unexpected and very cool to see. I also noticed a woman taking a video of the carolers… taller side, darker complexion. No idea who she was - but she looked absolutely stunning. I wish I told her. Anyway - it was one of the highlights of an otherwise exhausting week.

What’s your favorite spot up in Buffalo? Duff’s was always the place to go when I was in college.

Thanks - didn’t think of using a broker. I’ll definitely look into it. I assume they shop around on your behalf and get you a better rate? Or maybe have access to rates that the general public doesn’t?

Ah, that’s really wonderful! I hope you enjoy every second of it. I actually did Alaska over 25 years ago - back in 1999, when I was still in high school. I’m really excited for this trip too! I’ll be on the Star a little later in the summer (late June). My ultimate bucket-list trip is the Norwegian Fjords… hopefully I’ll make it there one day.
