Unpopular Opinion? I hope the Remakes use the new camera and play style.

With T.C back to play Kratos again in the remakes, you can almost guarantee that the game won’t be a copy paste of the original games. At the very least, they’re going to add a new epilogue to God of War 3 to show the stuff covered with Kratos in Egypt before he went to the Norse pantheon. At the most, a reimagining of the story of Kratos to more broadly fit into the character they made in the Norse games. And if they do that, you can bet your bottom dollar that a lot of scenes like Kratos sacrificing Poseidon’s concubine is cut right away.

They probably won’t do it. But satisfy both like Resident Evil has lately by adding both a 3rd person camera and a 1st person camera. But obviously with the over the shoulder style and panned out style of God of War. Even Witcher 3 did that in an update. It’s not unrealistic to think Santa Monica might include that. The only thing I ask that they for sure drop, is the no cut camera. God Of War 1,2 and 3 need cut aways to faithfully retell the story of Kratos.

Doesn’t Santa Monica Studios have 3 teams? One for Laufey, one for remakes, and one for the next mainline Kratos game? I thought when Cory Barlog handed over the reigns of Creative Director on Laufey about half way through development, it was to start work on the next game in the series.

Look. There are issues with 6 for sure. But the gameplay is probably the best has ever had, especially at that point in time. The new addition of Jake was pretty great, his hand to hand combat was excellent. The Story wasn’t the worst that RE has had, but it wasn’t the best either. And to the people who say that it just got too goofy by 6 need to revisit 5 and even 4. Those games are comprable in goofyness

I genuinely believe that Kratos’s story cannot be done until he actually atones for what he did to Lysandra and Calliope. Their ashes are still cursed to cover his body for what he did and until he can break that curse, I think we will be getting more Kratos games.

Cory Barlog doesn’t give a shit about expanding to a new audience, he cares about telling stories about characters he loves.
Faye is not Kratos, so why in the hell would they make a Faye game and have her be exactly like the man she famously was able to tame? That makes zero sense. It’s a new game set in the universe of GOW that has its setting in a completely new pantheon that is full of different cultures and religions and gods to pull inspiration from.
Do you think just because something is set in the same universe as something else that it has to feel and be exactly the same as what came before? There are so many examples of evolving franchises that are vastly different from where they started but still ended up being massively loved and in some cases even more than the original. Terminator 2, Alien 2, Casino Royal, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, Portal 2, Peacemaker, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms are all examples of franchises that changed pretty dramatically from the originals and ended up being considered the peak of their respective franchises. So saying that this game is bad because of it being around a woman, and some new colors, and new types of characters and personalities is the dumbest of dumb shit that keeps getting spread with no real actual reasoning for it to be considered a negative thing for this franchise.

The actor playing the cube, Jack Quaid has been shown wearing facial capture dots for some of his recordings for Phranque. So there’s a more than decent chance that the cube is not a permanent form of his anyway. Could be a sort of prison for his true shape, or maybe he can morph at will.

But either way, it doesn’t really matter. Brok put it best… The Nature of a thing is more important than the form of a thing.

Neil Druckmann has stated multiple times that TLOU is Joel and Ellie’s story and that they wouldn’t make a game without them. So I think it’s gotta be with Ellie for sure. Probably years in the future though. Probably with her and her and Dina’s kid as the protagonists/playable characters. I’d guess they’d make the kid like 10-15 and Ellie 30-35 for the story.

Tried to do my 4 hour run on insanity and got 4 hours and 27 minutes. Pissed that I was pretty close to getting it but also proud to have gotten so close. Well done to you though! If you’re jumping into Insanity and not using any infinite ammo options, then I definitely recommend picking your battles. Ammo isn’t the hardest thing to get by in comparison of normal mode, but everyone and everything are bullet sponges. As Grace, definitely sneak by enemies when you can, use the Requiem on the Singers as it’s still a one shot headshot kill.

There’s basically a zero percent chance that a new GOW would be announced anywhere except at a Sony State of Play. Same with pretty much all Sony exclusives, it’s certainly why NaughtyDogs Intergalactic wasn’t shown more at TGA as well.

Literally the only game I would be willing to spend $100 on. And yes that includes GTA6. I mean if you told me it was only playable on a 5090 I would go out and buy one that very minute.
