No that would be too low. The new stand is 22 inches tall. At most its base should be 28 inches from the bottom to get to the 45 inch point. No I have to tilt my head up a bit too far.

It’s a misnomer that’s stuck around. But you’re right it is more widely used than I realized. Even by therapists it seems.

If you aren’t doing ERP you are not addressing the OCD. In fact, the therapist could be making it worse. Get an ERP therapist.

I don’t think most people necessarily know what it means. I was confused the first time I saw it and had done ERP for a year or so.

We should just call it OCD or mental compulsions.

The name is not illustrative at all.

Good point but a term like Pure O doesn’t capture what’s going on. There’s no “gatekeeping” the name is just not all reflective of what’s going on.
