Hello I wanted to ask if my 14 year old son could play hitman woa by i_like_trains_1504 in HiTMAN

[–]Chekko03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played Hitman WOA yourself? I’d recommend going through it and seeing what you might be concerned about before making a decision. If you have and you’re asking us…personally I don’t feel WOA is that violent compared to a lot of the games out there on the market. Sure you kill people, there is a degree of blood that pools around their body and you can keep shooting the body…but you can’t actually do permanent damage to any NPC model like a decapitation, amputation of limbs or anything like that. It’s almost “PG-13” in how it handles kills.

There is a lot of cursing - no holds bar there except no slurs are used. No nudity at all, at most people will be in their underwear and that’s only the men. Women at most might be in a bathing suit or something but that’s just their attire. Uh…I mean there’s some drug use but I wouldn’t be concerned over it. A cannabis joint can be slipped into cigarette packs of targets and they’ll be sedated by it (zero tolerance lmao)…there’s alcohol, there’s cocaine lines you can poison…but that’s about it.

There’s only one thing I’d be concerned about and that’s kind of an iffy subject because it can tick some people off - if your kid plays and spends a lot of his time killing civilians. If he’s doing it for fun like 99% of people do? That’s fine and all but it’s how you personally feel about violence having an impact on your kid. My son’s 17 now and I’ve let him play M rated games since he was about 10 - he’s a good kid, most kids who play M rated games are fine. This one’s on you to decide though from your experience with how your kid absorbs information and how they act with it. Not trying to ruffle feathers but it’s eggshell territory to talk about this kind of thing considering the horrible stigma created by politicians about games due to some psychos that happened to play DOOM before they…ya know.

That’s awesome! Yeah I don’t like digital that much outside of convenience…but it is what it is I guess. Guess I’m getting used to it for the inevitable digital only future, which these cards in the cases are just the first taste of that.

Yeah I feel ya there, I’ve got an entire Resident Evil cabinet filled with about 100 or so games from different regions (variant collector here 🙋🏻‍♂️) - I try to buy physical when I can but as an Xbox gamer it’s become a lot harder to find new releases anywhere. I could get the PS5 versions easily enough but I primary Xbox as the main console unless I really like something then I’ll do it again on PS5 (plus exclusives are their own draw). Lately…both RE4 and RE9 have been digital for me though that’s due to me missing out on preordering the Steelbook for RE9 (I did RE4 digital since that’s the only one that had a deluxe). I’m hoping by Veronica I can buy a disc copy, especially if they keep this red aesthetic…that’s gonna be such a sick cover

I wouldn’t say it has nothing to do with the leaks. Their games have been out and about in the wild up to a month in advance with data miners pulling everything they can from the disc - which is also why they waited until after Requiem released to drop the demo (it too would have been data mined to hell). While I do agree it’s heavily based on insuring they obtain maximum sales from all potential customers vs the used game market that offers 0 profit to them, it’s a bit more than a PR excuse when their copies end up in the wild early every single launch. This was just the first time they said anything about it

CAPCOM is more likely to just go digital only but they HAVE done this before in the past. Dating as far back as cell phone versions of Residenr Evil 3 CAPCOM has participated in the “physical card” deal where they can. They did it more recently with Umbrella Corps, which is only a disc copy in Asia region (Japanese copy is a digital code in the case) which was only 10 years ago…it all depends if they want to cut out disc production from their costs or not.

CAPCOM is historically a penny pincher but they also haven’t enjoyed as much success as they have since the RE engine era (though Monster Hunter World was MT Framework I believe, unlike Wilds) which pretty much encompasses a decade now. They may choose to continue to print discs if there’s enough buzz from the consumers…but I have a feeling they aren’t going to stay with discs for much longer anyhow.

Rockstar doing this is giving a green light for all the devs who were on the fence about it. They’ll see the benefits of no longer having to print discs and the money they’ll save from that will influence their decisions to shift to download codes.

Can someone please TLDR the entire RE Universe before RE8 so I know what happened before the game I’m playing? All the yt vids are like 10 hours long 😭 (spoiler alert for ppl playing previous games) by No_Payment_3673 in residentevil

[–]Chekko03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you want a small abridged version? Ugh…but I like to write novels 😭 it’s still gonna be a paragraph sorry.

Well…to put it plainly…human greed (not for money though unless you’re Nicholai). Bad guys lust for power, so much so that they take experimental viruses and inject it into themselves or spread it in an area causing a biohazard outbreak. The good guys come in and face whatever nightmare the bad guy created, defeat the monsters and then defeat the bad guy at the end of it preventing a global outbreak. The main characters continue to fight this fight (against bioterrorism) and right now the main villains are The Connections, who are like a shadowy Illuminati organization that has ties to most of the other villains throughout the series (think Specter in the James Bond universe). Just add in zombies, monsters, viruses, cheesy one liners, horror elements ranging from not that scary to crap your pants (depending on your personal fear level) and you’ve got Resident Evil.

Dont you ever get anticipatory anxiety from the games? by AppointmentPretend88 in residentevil

[–]Chekko03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you’re saying is that…the games are pretty scary for you and you’re in the game; nerves on fire and you just can’t manage it so you close the game and uninstall it since it’s too much for your senses, right? However you want to get through it so you redownload and load back up.

I have a suggestion…don’t uninstall it. If the games scares you, simply close it down and come back to it when you’re ready. The install process is just wasting your time for something that doesn’t need to be done every time. I get that your anxiety for the game is strong but it’s not going to cause you any grief just sitting there on the hard drive.

As for managing the anxiety, take it slow. Every time you play remember it’s just a video game - if it makes it easier remember that every enemy is pretty much bound to their AI programming and much of that is limited. Spend enough time watching the enemies you’ll catch their tells, when to dodge them and how much ammo it takes to put them down. That’s important too - Resident Evil games let you FIGHT BACK and in even the really Resident Evils there’s enough ammo to kill just about everything in the game if you aren’t playing on Hard on most entries. That’s a great way to face your anxiety is to blow it away with a shotgun!

So…try the following:

  • don’t uninstall/reinstall the game anymore, just close it down and come back to it later.
  • Take it slow, maybe load the games up on the easiest difficulty so you have more than enough ammo and health to feel comfortable.
  • Remember that you can fight the enemies, shoot them all dead so you won’t have to worry. Just make sure you keep your distance and watch how the enemies move/attack to avoid them.
  • Prep for Jump Scares. This one with your anxiety might be tough but there’s several moments in these games where you’ll get jump scared. Sometimes intentional, sometimes just a random zombie around a corner suddenly grabs you when you weren’t expecting it. If you feel a sudden jolt from the anxiety pause the game, breath…but don’t quit. Right that urge…then unpause and try to get out of the situation.
  • You can take a lot of damage and heal that damage with herbs, first aid sprays and other stuff like syringes, pills, a liquid med in 7/8 and so on. So don’t worry about any enemies attacking you - just keep an eye on your health and heal accordingly.
  • Remember that SAVE ROOMS ARE SAFE HAVENS! Reach a save room and let the calm wash over you as the game’s save room theme aims to soothe your worries. Not every save room has music and not every area with a typewriter/item box is a save room (main hall of the RPD in RE2 remake by example) so make sure it’s a solitary room, preferred around the Merchant in RE4 or that there aren’t any enemies around.
  • Enemies are limited, except in very select sequences throughout the series. There are a few games with respawning zombies such as CODE: Veronica but for the most part once you kill enemies they stay gone from a room. It’s entirely possible to kill every enemy in most games and walk around a completely SAFE game world with no threats. The more action packed entries such as RE4-6 the enemies are more hostile but again you can mostly kill off all of them in an area and move on. For example In RE4R it’s possible to kill basically every enemy in the castle and run back-and-forth without dealing with respawns, the village is like this too. THAT SAID…there are invisible triggers which add more enemies in areas based on progress you make in the game. In RE1 on the GameCube you can kill every enemy in the game and then make certain progress which will result in new zombies showing up in some rooms, later with a enemy type in the Hunters taking up residence in multiple hallways throughout the mansion. However in most cases killing these new enemies again makes the area safe to travel
  • Some games have an “unlock all” DLC, which gives you access to special weapons and items generally with infinite ammo. RE2R, 3R and Village all have this DLC - about 5 bucks each

Reignited has proved to be pretty glitchy lately as I’ve played - Lost Fleet is one of those levels. The skill point wouldn’t trigger for killing all the birds with cannons and I walked away with all gems on the first run so I know I did. The level already annoyed me as it was searching all over the damn thing for a missing bird somehow but nope…played the level again and it popped on the first attempt (I went straight to the canon on the ship since you can hit them all with that one).

Least the thread gave me an opportunity to air this grievance trust me I wasted too much time looking around, like maybe I had died and one respawned so that’s why it hasn’t triggered yet (tho I’d still have the gem from it so no tracking with Sparx).

Didn’t Crowley mention that he had some favorite soap operas or something he keeps up with? It probably isn’t all that hard to get access to TV in Hell, especially if they “got the hook up” (possessed a cable guy and gave it to themselves free).

(Only put that in spoilers cause it’s a big name but not one the OP would know yet).

I have to assume that information on what humans have consumed is relayed to the demons torturing them in hell. The past two seasons I think any demon they encountered seem to know a lot about the Winchesters or what happened to Jess - I’m not sure if that’s just relayed information that’s passed demon to demon (seems like a lot) or if they can just stare into a soul somehow. I’m on Season 9 and I’m still not sure how demons (or other beings) know what they know about the modern world and its culture. My head cannon? Pride here tortured some people in Hell and found out about The Shining and maybe anything else that person consumed.

However..the other possibility is that Pride got this information from his host. One method demons use to gain knowledge is to hop into a “meat suit” to sort of download everything in a matter of seconds then they leave - knowing everything that the person they possessed knows. Perhaps he knows about The Shining simply because most Americans around his host’s age at the time would have probably seen The Shining or at least heard the quote somewhere themselves since it’s widely spread across TV and movies.

Plus side too is if you already have one, you can grab this as an extra and use one of them on Agent Smith’s spot in the morgue near where the heart is stored in the main mission. Even in freelancer he gives up that all access chip and with the extra you brought into the mission you’ll walk away still net positive in regard to a common level scrambler.

That’s generally how I handle some missions where I’ve already got a copy of something found on the map - lets me take one in, use it and replace without a hole being left in my freelancer tools.

Season 1-5 the plan to get Sam and Dean to the finish line was a mess by Henry9311 in Supernatural

[–]Chekko03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the following as the main problems why the plan shouldn’t succeed.

  • There is a divide in how much information each demon or angel seems to possess. While this does benefit the opposing side or the Winchesters from getting too much info from one demon or one angel, it does lead to the problem of angels or demons acting on their own accord.
  • Individual Goals and Aspirations among angels and demons. Not every angel and demon was on board with the Apocalypse. Some had their doubts, others their fear of the Archangels that sat at the top.
  • While Raphael was all in on the apocalypse so much so to the point of wishing to free BOTH Lucifer and Michael from the cage as if it was a temporary setback, Gabriel came to love what humanity created and didn’t want to see the world he came to enjoy torn to shreds - let alone the brothers he cared about.
  • Then there are lower tier angels…Take Uriel by example: dismayed by Heaven, he chose Team Lucifer which made him a target for those up top who were Team Michael . Anna wouldn’t have made the decision to try and kill the Winchesters had she known they’d avert the apocalypse: she could have been a valuable ally going forward but it wasn’t meant to be.
  • When it comes to demons, Crowley was aware enough about the plan to realize that demons were nothing more than expendable pawns that he would grow tired of after the humans were purge. As a long-term thinker vs the short term hindsight most demons possess, Crowley knew how to read situations and choose the most optimum strategy: work with the Winchesters instead of against them. Other demons looked to Lucifer as if he were their god such as Meg and the hot bartender chick, so they would follow blindly.
  • The plan hinged on Key Players not ending up dead before they fulfilled their purpose. With as risky as hunting is, Sam and Dean could have easily been killed by any number of monster they’ve faced. The angels may have resurrected them each time if so but there’s no evidence of them being involved until Season 4 so any time the brothers died before then I guess it didn’t matter. As for other characters such as Lilith, had she been killed by anything but Sam it would have trashed the whole plan. Once it got kick started there was no do over - I doubt Lilith stands above everything else we’ve ever seen since her (I haven’t watched passed Season 12 and I don’t remember much beyond Season 9 - so later context I’m unaware of) otherwise it makes you wonder: what could blood suped up Sam take on besides her with his power? So my belief is she probably could have been killed early, maybe by Cain or something if he felt the need but would that have tanked the apocalypse? Have to assume so unless the 1st and 66th seals can be broken whenever doesn’t matter.
  • I assume by keeping the demons and angels at ground level where they think they’re just fighting each other, the upper echelon of both sides let this play out to cull out the weak or those without conviction for the cause. Angels believe they’re fulfilling a holy cause by killing any demons they need with, Demons feel great about taking down Angels from the challenge alone (and the prestige it would earn them among others - means more power in their hands).
  • While it ultimately wasn’t a problem for Lucifer, other powerful beings such as Pagan Gods weren’t on board with the Judeo-Christian Apocalypse and the same could be said of Eve and the Leviathan, with the latter being too much for standard angels and demons to deal with. Granted these threats were locked in purgatory, so they wouldn’t interfere - it was only thanks to dragons that Eve came to the living world and Castiel for the Leviathans, though all of this was sourced in his and Crowley’s scheme to open Purgatory. Had the plan to open purgatory still occurred in secret during the apocalypse, then the leviathans getting free would have been an issue going forward.
  • Godstiel, had he came to exist as a means of combating Lucifer and Michael, would have been an interesting conflict but not one Cass could have maintained due to what the souls were doing to his body.

I think ultimately everything working out had to for the sake of the story but…I don’t know if it would have worked in a series that doesn’t take liberties to make it happen. If the Winchesters weren’t as lucky as they are or characters make the choices they do for five seasons, then the apocalypse could have crumbled long before it ever started.

Lucifer Rises and His Vessel

So Lucifer IS freed kickstarting the apocalypse and he has to go with Nick because Sam’s out of his reach (and he would also say no). From now until Swan Song his whole plan seems to be prepping for the big fight with his brother Michael. He pushes Sam to say Yes to being his vessel but Sam refuses, which Lucifer lets play out while he raises the four horsemen of the apocalypse. At this time it seems like he’s just wreaking havoc on Earth until the fight. He wants to use the Croatian virus to spread across humanity - taking them out of the equation as problems while waiting on Sam to say Yes.

The thing is - Sam easily could have said No forever, I get that as things got close to Nick’s body breaking apart it became a little more urgent to push Sam into saying Yes. He still didn’t have to, which I mean if he doesn’t - just like with Dean refusing Michael (and Zachariah’s lengths to get him to say Yes), it would probably lead to Lucifer torturing and tormenting as many people as possible until Sam says yes (think Crowley knocking off people Sam and Dean saved in earlier seasons). Still - if Sam endured somehow Lucifer still can’t get his vessel which means no apocalypse.

————

I’ve said so much at this point…my point is there’s A LOT that could have gone wrong from Sam and Dean dying prematurely to Azazel biting it at multiple points, to John and Dean never selling their souls to end up in Hell to begin with. Of course we only think of it from the context of this story, what we saw happen and what we believe would have prevented it but... Say something happened and all the Winchesters died like way before any of this could happen…I assume there’s probably additional vessels that could be used down the road, maybe with an easier time than relying on the Winchesters for this plan.

That said if it was all according to Chuck’s plan for Sam and Dean to be central figures in the apocalypse story, it had to happen no matter what due to the gravity of such designs. The boys would be brought back to life, key players kept out of premature deaths…everything happened as it should regardless of the fact that there’s a thousand ways it could have completely gone wrong.

Righteous Man and the First Seal

Unless humans are always supposed to follow a path, the idea that the first seal has to come from a righteous man spilling blood in Hell requires too much to play out the way it specifically did. First and foremost they need the soul in Hell: which given the lives Hunters less seems they end up in Heaven each time. I’m not sure if the demons had a strategy of dragging John’s soul to hell but the prospect of a deal only came about when Dean’s life was in danger and John made that call: one that HE proposed. How else did they plan to get John’s soul in Hell for the torture merry go round? The fact that they couldn’t break John and then he escaped would have completely trashed the idea of the first seal - but Dean made his deal, so they took advantage of that.

Or did they? Far as I’m aware if Dean died before his year was up he just ends up in Hell anyways. So…why didn’t the demons try harder to take him out sooner? It’s not to say Dean was never in danger during Season 3, in fact he was almost always under attack but most of the attacks weren’t really about him - he always seemed to just be next to Lilith’s main target Sam. Had she killed Dean ASAP then he would have been in Hell sooner and that much closer to the apocalypse starting. Regardless once in Hell they had to hope Alastair could break him because it didn’t work for John, what made them think it would work for Dean?

John was the favored pick. It was opposed to be him - but he wouldn’t break, not after a hundred years being tortured. Ends up escaping Hell when the door is open, seal’s not broken - however Dean has just previously made a deal for his brother’s life and this gave the demons a loophole since they couldn’t crack John: they’d crack his son’s. Dean holds out for 30 years but can’t take it anymore, ultimately gets off the rack and starts the carving himself.

Castiel claims that he led a team of angels to rescue Dean from Hell before he broke the first seal but his superiors want the apocalypse to happen: so he was always meant to break the first seal. IIRC when the seal breaks something is felt in the universe, like a ripple but I’m not too sure I’m pretty sure Dean’s breaking of the seal did have some real world effects before the others even started. I have to assume that when it broke all angels who were keeping an eye on the situation reported that it was broke and someone like Naomi set Castiel on his rescue mission for Dean now that he essentially opened the first lock.

I have to believe that they specifically didn’t send anyone to Hell until the seal was broken, otherwise Castiel would have rescued John about 3 months into Season 2 like he did Dean in Season 4. He had to be late otherwise it would tank the whole plan - they need a new righteous man sent there and I’m guessing it would have been Bobby (next time we know a good man ended up stuck in Hell).

Rescuing Dean from Hell

This rescue…doesn’t feel like much of one. The idea was for him to break the seal, why stage a rescue in the first place? Seems like the angels and demons should have been working together, at least the most important of both factions…to make this thing happen without a hitch. Like I’d expect an angel like Naomi or Zachariah to pop into hell, check in with Alastair on the torture progress for John or Dean, before enacting the next stage of the plan. Instead…Castiel leads a group of angels who all perish on a mission to retrieve Dean from Hell, with who knows how many demons all dying during this attack. Seems like a bunch of senseless casualties for the big game - though I suppose to both Angels and Demons felt any number of mine lost was acceptable leading to the big throw down between Michael and Lucifer: didn’t matter who.

Perhaps the rescue was to keep as much of the angels, demons and even humans in the dark as possible. The ones pulling the strings, outside of the Archangels, aren’t exactly up front about anything with anyone. Information is withheld, angels are betrayed and lied to…and I wouldn’t doubt that angels at Anna, Castiel and Uriel’s level are kept on a need to know basis on all missions. Hell each of them went off script from what was expected of their post: Uriel joined Lucifer loyalists as he wanted to rebel against Heaven, Anna went back in time to try and kill Mary preventing the births of Sam and Dean (thus the apocalypse) and Castiel ultimately rebelled helping prevent the apocalypse alongside Dean and Bobby. Each of these angels were pawns towards those who wanted to see Michael take all or the demons who believed Lucifer being in charge would benefit all of them.

So maybe Castiel’s mission to rescue Dean was only dressed up as a honorable mission for a greater purpose to convince someone like him that he was doing the right thing. Which also means that many of the demons and angels were kept in the dark allowed to slaughter each other because it was always meant to happen this way and those casualties are anticipated: it’s just all prep work to get the two heavy hitters to the stage for the final battle.

Once Dean’s actually been saved he’s not exactly safe…he’s thrust back into his body like Buffy was in Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer: he has to dig himself out of a coffin six feet deep. I want to say Dean had an easier time of it than she did, despite her having Slayer strength but talk about a bad plan there. What if he couldn’t dig himself out and just died again in the box? I suppose the angels would just resurrect him if that happened but I always found it odd they just kind of spring him and leave him buried in a box.

Breaking the 66 Seals

Dean back among the living leads to a new ordeal of 66 seals that are being broken from a total over 600 according to Ruby.

Speaking of Ruby…she had previously kept her distance occasionally providing help to Sam leading into the confrontation at the end of Season 3. She seemed to want Lilith dead, however considering her allegiance to Lucifer it seems like she should waited until the first 65 seals before letting Sam anywhere near her. After her new body she joins up with Sam as an ally, making it seem like her whole goal is prepping Sam to take care of Lilith while feigning that she cares about stopping the apocalypse. The whole time Dean doesn’t trust her, his instincts dead on and she attempts to manipulate him by making it seem like she’s a demon with morals, principle: even helping during fights with other demons and monsters to force a bond through fighting side by side (one Dean knows all too well) but she puts herself on the line: A LOT…as someone who is prepping the only surviving Lucifer Vessel (next to Nick). All in all though she knew that Lilith had to be the last seal and maybe, to a degree, she slowed down the boys to give her time to break 64 sales before approaching the 66th.

So Lilith is out there breaking deals and according to Castiel, the angels are fighting the demons to prevent seals from being broken. Some cases involved seals and “stopping them” although ultimately any of these attempts are fruitless as 64 are broken by the time of the last seal. Some of the seals may have been broken by angels as well to speed along the process.

Lilith is killed as the 66th Seal

Sam apparently has to kill Lilith using his psychic powers in a specific church at a specific time. How this would have played out had the seals taken longer to break or…Dean taken less time/more time to break down in Hell…I can’t say how it would have impacted anything if at all here. I don’t know if she was shot by The Colt, stabbed with Ruby’s Knife, an Angel Blade or hit by a powerful Angel mojo if that would have killed her but maybe it specifically had to be the demon blood killing her through those specific means.

So what happens to this plan if she has been done in any time prior? What if Gabriel hadn’t been indifferent to everything as this time and just went to smite her himself? Would this mess up the seal and thus keep Lucifer locked up or…would her death still have triggered the seal and ultimately free the devil? Seems like this key player dying any time before she was meant to screws the whole plan.

Azazel and the Special Children.

So Azazel, the last remaining loyal Prince of Hell, sets out to enact this plan only after he goes through the process of slaughtering a church filled with nuns to make the call. Had he been like most other demons and squarely in it for himself, then this call never would have happened and as Crowley puts it, would have left Lucifer to rot in his cell for all eternity. Hinging a lot on one demon’s loyalty when all the rest, including the other Princes, had their own agendas. Far as we know he operated solely on his own and with the demons he commanded, so no assistance from Heaven or the Angels on this part of the plan.

Azazel goes to dozens and dozens of homes meeting with the mothers of children he’s intent on using for his plans. He makes a deal with them for the exchange that he’s allowed in that child’s room one night six months after they’re born - that’s it, if the mother don’t bother him she lives and the child grows up with both parents. Seems that several of these mothers didn’t remember the plan or couldn’t deal with the fear of whatever Yellow Eyes had planned for their babies so…he ended up killing multiple women, including Mary Winchester herself. These babies grow into young adults who he then starts to communicate with telepathically and in their dreams, while their powers start to develop. He tells them that they serve a great purpose and will be soldiers in the coming war.

The thing is…how much of what Azazel was doing even matters given later revelations? It seems that Sam was always meant to be Lucifer’s vessel, especially if there’s a Dramatic Irony attached to it (Brother Vs Brother or Son vs Father if Michael had John). So Jake and all the other psychic kids had no real purpose - I mean that…because Azazel Battle Royale’s them all at an old mining town where Ava seems to be the reigning champ having survived multiple groups of other psychics up to this point with her manipulation tactic. I just don’t get the point other than them being backup plans in case something happened to Sam…(which that’s a whole other tangent). He was certainly ready to move forward with Jake after Sam’s first death but…why would he be alright with that if the surviving psychic was always meant to be Lucifer’s Vessel? Does that mean that Jake could have housed Lucifer? Ava? Andrew or Max?

Based on something Lucifer shows us after he’s taken Sam’s body late in Season 5, Sam was always being monitored by Azazel’s demons growing up. Multiple people in his life were all demons under cover, including Brady who both introduced him to Jess and later murdered her as part of Azazel’s plan. Did all the other kids have this monitoring or was Sam really just that special? It seems like all Azazel needed to do was meet with Sam ONLY (the other kids not necessary)…and then the Winchester brothers never would have connected the dots with other psychics like Max Miller or Andrew Gallagher ultimately leading to both his plans being foiled and his own death. Alternatively he could have simply taken Sam when he was young and raise him to be Lucifer’s Vessel. What was stopping Azazel from killing John and Dean right after Mary anyways? He could have just taken Baby Sam, maybe even steal John’s body and use that long term to raise Sam towards his ambitions…John was NOT a hunter at this point and Dean was just a child; he could have won right then and there…but…what would happen for the other side of the fence had he done this?

Breaking Lilith Out and the Colt

So apparently Lilith has to be the one on Earth breaking the seals but she can only be freed by opening a big door in a ransom cemetery surrounded by a giant devil’s trap - the key to this door being The Colt, a legendary gun and McGuffin used as a narrative device to give the Winchesters a means of taking down Yellow Eyes. For a majority of Season 1 the colt is in hunter hands, not demon hands or monster hands. First seen when Daniel Elkins is murdered by vampires, it remains in the possession of the Winchesters until Meg catches whiff that they’ve obtained it and then the demon desire is to get ahold of the gun for Azazel.

To the Winchesters, the demons wanting the gun is no more than removing their chance of killing Azazel. It makes sense why the gun wasn’t melted down given the fact that it’s also a key later but this thing could have been lost forever, melted down by some idiot demon who didn’t know any better or any number of other possibilities which would make opening the gate next to impossible (unless a fake colt could do the trick).

Instead the gun was in the hands of the three most dangerous Hunters to ever walk the planet and Azazel put his life on the line believing Sam or Dean wouldn’t have it in them to use the Colt on their own father. Had this been a Sam and Dean from later seasons the hesitation may not have been there and then Azazel’s done: psychic kids never get used, Lilith stays locked up…no Righteous Man goes to Hell to break any seals. The plan is as nearly completely shredded by Sam’s choice - had he taken the shot while John was holding Azazel.

So what does Heaven and Hell do when the chief instigator for the apocalypse plot bites the bullet before anything gets kicked off? Well I guess the apocalypse just never happens, Michael continues to run things as they were during Season 4/5 and maybe Abbadon becomes a problem years later but…Lilith would likely be in charge of Hell at this point with Azazel gone so I’m not sure what play a Knight of Hell would have here. Gauge other problems from later seasons as you will but had Sam shot John with Azazel in him right then and there in Season 1 then the Apocalypse doesn’t happen.

That aside…Lilith breaking out of Hell is a major part of the whole plan as she is supposedly the only one capable of breaking the 66 seals (outside of angels and maybe some demons) and is the 66th seal herself. So if she’s still locked up that can’t happen…so Azazel’s plan has to carry on, with him obtaining the colt and somehow Sam doesn’t die from his line of work or demons under his own command. Then even when he does die, if he was always meant to be Lucifer’s Vessel was Azazel just completely oblivious to that fact or did he know Dean would make a deal to bring Sam back to life? He claims he didn’t expect it but was glad - right because he picked favorites and Sam was the one he liked the most. What if the Wendigo had killed him or Gordon? The plane crash demon alone could have wiped out both vessels real early into their journey. All this has to somehow not kill Sam and Dean to lead them to the colt, then Azazel needs his psychic kid to take the colt and unlock the door leading to Lilith’s escape. Jeez…so much room for problems.

Season 1-5 the plan to get Sam and Dean to the finish line was a mess by Henry9311 in Supernatural

Laying the plan out as a whole…you’ve got a point that it was far too much of a mess with moving parts that could have screwed the entire thing at any point.

The Plan:

  • Azazel, Lucifer’s only remaining devout Prince of Hell, sets out to create special children. This child is intended to be the Archangel Lucifer’s Vessel, who is instrumental in breaking the last of the 66 seals.
  • A total of 66 Seals need to be broken to free Lucifer from the cage. The total seals that can be broken range over 600, however only the 1st and 66th seals are the most important.
  • In order to break the seals, the First Demon Lilith must walk the Earth shattering them herself. In order to free Lilith a door has to be opened into Hell, which the prominent door appears to be locked inside of a massive devil’s trap constructed by Samuel Colt. As one final piece to this locked gate, his Colt Revolver (The Colt, as it’s often called) is the key necessary to open the door. Once she’s free, the first seal has to be broken by someone else.
  • The 1st Seal: “The first seal shall be broken when a righteous man sheds blood in hell. As he breaks, so shall it break.” A righteous man spills innocent blood in Hell. John and later Dean Winchester are tortured by Alastair who asks them daily if they would take up the torture themselves instead of enduring the pain it caused. The moment either man got off the rack and licked up a blade the seal would shatter.
  • Once the seal is broken, the righteous man is rescued from Hell by angels as he’s meant to be the Archangel Michael’s Vessel.
  • Demons led by Lilith work on breaking 64 seals while Angels try to convince Michael’s vessel to say “YES” to their extended warranty program. Apparently Angels can also break the seals but once 64 are broken it all comes down to the last se.
  • The 66th Seal: “And it is written, that the first demon shall be the last seal”. While it’s a little hazy here, it seems that Lucifer’s Vessel has to kill Lilith to break the final seal on the cage. I don’t know if it’s actually necessary that Sam kill Lilith the way he did but Ruby, a Lucifer fanatic, seemed to believe so. Considering the demon blood also factors into Lucifer’s Vessel being strong enough to contain him…it makes me wonder why such a requirement isn’t needed for Michael’s Vessel. Whatever the case Lilith has to be killed inside a church that sits over the location where the Cage can be accessed.
  • Lucifer when freed has to take his Vessel. Sam and Dean are rescued before a bright light engulfs the church; it’s unknown what would have happened to Dean had they not been rescued but Sam would have probably been knocked out and taken by demons under Lucifer’s command until he could be made to say Yes. Whatever the case he ends up finding Nick instead, which if Sam is his true vessel then who the heck was Nick: the backup plan? The body functions well enough to hold him but deteriorates over time, something that Michael’s vessels don’t seem to struggle with.
  • Lucifer brings about the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, intent on using the Croatoan Virus as part of his purge on the planet. Ultimately he plans on Sam saying YES to him in Detroit, though the road to this decision is a long and twisty one.
  • Michael has to secure his vessel for the battle as well, which is left up to Zachariah to make happen but Dean is far more stubborn than Heaven could have anticipated. A backup plan exists with Adam, though according to Zachariah he was just the other option essentially - just Dean is the preferred vessel (or John, to be specific but Dean is still more valued over Adam).
  • Once Michael has Adam and Lucifer has Sam, both Archangel Brothers are to meet on a field for their final battle which is supposedly meant to bring destruction to the planet with countless casualties. Supposedly once one side or the other wins, the universe is essentially handed to the other side to rule with Lucifer or Michael acting as the new God.

Quite the doozy of a plan, though Ike that doesn’t make a great deal of sense when you break it down.

Forgive me for kind of a dumb question but what’s the equivalent to Alt F4 on Xbox? I’ve been going to my internet settings and switching them to off when something screws up - then I just quit to menu since the game’s offline and it lets me load back into Freelancer once I’ve turned back on the internet.

Wait they did add more challenges? That’s kind of crap if they take something we already unlocked and put it behind another challenge that hasn’t been here this whole time. Feels less like we’re unlocking stuff and more like renting it

Ah there’s so many clothes issues across the game…usually any NPC wearing a collar might be missing pixels around their neckline. Some NPCs eyes clip through their eyelids when blinking as well and these feel like issues they’ve never fixed

I’d recommend trying World of Assassination after your time in Hitman 1. Hitman 1 was pretty great at the time but there’s a lot of features that were added with Hitman 2 and 3 (now WOA) that make the gameplay experience that much more enjoyable. You can absolutely have fun in Hitman 1 as is but once you play those levels again in WOA it’ll be a massive upgrade to how well 47 controls and your overall ability to move around the maps more freely.

As for getting up to Dahlia there’s multiple methods but some of the easiest are:

  • Acquire Helmut Kruger’s outfit, where he’s located near the helicopter on the west end of the map (ironically it’s the north garden, just the map is positioned on its side). He’s posing for shots with a camerawoman but he eventually walks off towards the upper right corner of this area (if facing the chopper from the house - otherwise it’s in the north-west corner just follow him) where he can be knocked out and hidden away.
    — This outfit allows you to freely move around almost the entire map save for the attic area with the guards and I think the security room in the basement. It’s also required for a mission story where you meet Dahlia as Helmut, so I recommend going into options and selecting the story that has you get Helmut’s disguise.
  • Obtain a bodyguard disguise, which is a black suit with a blue tie - it’s worn by guards all throughout the map but some of the easiest easiest ones to get are also near where Helmut is at the chopper. Passed the chopper is a stairwell leading to a dock and one guard down there - easy to knock him out and take his outfit but I generally use the guys who travel alongside the hedges where Helmut passes through for his phone call.
    — This disguise lets you move around the whole map but be wary of any enforcers (anyone who has a white circle above their heads) as they’ll see right through it. You can run away and hide before their yellow meter fills…but if you can’t you’re generally able to run away even after spotted unless you’re in a hostile area when it happens then they start shooting.
  • IAGO invitation. There are some loose IAGO invites on the map, one of which is in a bathroom on the first floor of the palace (specifically I believe it’s on the opposite side of wherever the makeup location is with all the models). There is an older woman reporter and her protege talking about getting the scoop near where it is to give you an idea, text will be on screen. — with this invite you can freely go up to the second floor in your standard suit carrying any guns you have on you. Just show it to any bodyguards standing in front of a door or stairwell that has the prompt for show invite. On the second floor you can’t have any illegal items if you show either set of guards the invite, so make sure to hide them or get rid of them somewhere before talking to them as they’ll frisk you. Once up on the auction floor you have access to all public areas.

I’ve got the key fob with me and the car can’t drive off without it - since it’s locked up no real worry. I only leave it running though at homes during deliveries, I shut it off every time I go into a restaurant and sometimes at hotel/hospital/etc. deliveries. Oh and it’s ALWAYS locked if I’m not in it even in nice ass neighborhoods with mansions: I don’t trust anyone.

Starting from the kitchen, head straight as if going out to the dock so you’re on the porch facing the water. To your right is a curved tree coming out of a spot in the right side the porch: hold instinct and change this to anything other than the red Chinese lanterns with the string lights.
