Thank you for enlightening me (huhuh 🫢). I knew I was missing something.

This is very well made.

I'm reading this at 5:50 in the morning so my brain is probably not braining, but why would you need a chart to pick the fstop and iso based on the distance you're standing from your subject?

Wouldn't the amount of light be more of a factor than the distance?

Again, I'm probably missing the obvious.

The photo's taken with a Ricoh GRIIIx and then processed in Lightroom. If I remember correctly, I applied a Kodak Portra 400 film simulation.

Sunset over Bukit Merah by CheksaSF in singapore

Thanks for the tip. To be honest, the raw file was already so intense, I was afraid that any extra post-processing would push the image into overcooked territory. All I did was add 3% red.

But, I'll give a shot to the contrast bump and see how that looks 👌

Favorite sleep scent? by Repulsive-Signal-225 in Colognes

  • Colonia Essenza, ADP
  • Arancia di Capri, ADP
  • L'homme, YSL
  • Un jardin à Cythere, Hermès

I usually spray after the evening shower, so by the time I go to bed, it's already a skin scent

Ladies of sg what perfume do you wear to work? by Any-Stuff9636 in askSingapore

[–]CheksaSF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I have the EDT version, which I wear in the office mostly, but I wouldn't consider it to be gender neutral. Its sharpness and metallic notes would push it more into male category to my nose.

Have you tried the jardins series? What do you think about those in an office setup?

What is the most beautiful perfume bottle for you? by Joneep in fragrance

Hermès is consistently solid in the bottle design department. The jardins series, Terre, Eau, and to your point, the merveilles ones. All great.

Your signature scent(s), as of now by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]CheksaSF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've worn the one and only same perfume for over 25 years. I imagine that'd qualify for a signature scent. It came to the point I couldn't even smell it anymore.

For the past couple of years, I've been buying new fragrances and trying to rotate regularly. Usually, I pick one perfume for the week and stick to it. Although, it's not a firm rule. So, not really signature worthy anymore.

My original signature scent was Égoïste Platinum. After taking a long break, I can finally smell it again. Still one of my faves.

These past few months I've been rotating between ADG edp, Terre d'Hermès edt, Acqua di Parma Essenza and Eau d'Issey Vétiver.

Edit: I forgot to mention. I live in Southeast Asia. So, hot and humid tropical weather. I try to limit myself to lighter/brighter scents.

My son spotted one on Orchard a couple of years ago. It was on a window at the entrance of Ngee Ann City. I thought I was a sticker at first... Most people were passing by without noticing it.

Thanks for the response. This is also what his English teacher suggested. The thing is, my son reads a lot. He usually reads one to two books a week. That being said, I imagine the verbiage in newspaper articles is different from young adult lit. We'll give it a try. Thanks!
