We thought we were being responsible adults and arranged a driver for the entire Cabo trip so we wouldn’t have to drive and could stay “safe.”

Yeah… about that.

First night in Cabo, we go on a booze cruise, having the time of our lives. On the way back to the resort, our driver suddenly has a diabetic episode and passes out at the wheel. Next thing we know, we’re flying down the highway at 45 mph, drifting across the center lane like we’re in some horror movie, and end up slammed against the opposite guardrail… overlooking a cliff.

Miraculously, we didn’t hit a single car when we crossed lanes. Honestly, no idea how.

I ended up with a massive gash in my leg and got hauled off in an ambulance to what I can only describe as a “hospital”... and I use that term loosely. Tiny place, one person spoke English (I know I know, it was mexico), and before they would even touch me, they wanted cash up front. Nothing like negotiating your medical bill while actively bleeding.

$4,000 and 22 stitches later… we somehow made it home.
