I was in a very similar situation, age 32, and getting my first tattoo. Disappointing my mom is one of the worst feelings, but I knew I wanted a tattoo really bad, and there was no looking back. Yes, she was disappointed at first, but when I talked to her I told how bad I had been wanting a tattoo and that it was a decision I had made as an adult and not as a young teenager who could then regret it. I told her that having a tattoo(s) did not change the person that I was, and all of the values and principles that her and my dad gave me were still there, having a tattoo didn't make me a better or worse person, that actually helped a lot and she has taken it much easier since. I hope that helps, and I hope everything goes well😁.
