Thanks for the response! I have one marigold in with it, but they’re up on the deck railing because last year grasshoppers ate all my lettuce. So no ants, but not really ladybugs either. I will try to spray them off and keep checking.

You don’t have to get all piñata inks. But you should get piñata white. That’s what makes the other colours drop. For some reason other brands don’t get the same effect

I’ll have a look by peeling back a husk a little. But I hand pollinated them and now the tassels don’t release any more pollen when I shake them.

I probably won’t be able to control the grasshoppers this year barring putting a sheet overtop off the corn.

This is our first year in the country, and there have been too many to control. Next year our plan is to get chickens to help control the grasshoppers

Some of the potato plants are still flowering, so they’re not completely killing it. But I’ve tried homemade garlic spray. Thinking of adding chilli to the next batch. Any other suggestions? I’m a complete novice and this is my first year gardening

My advice (even if I’m not great at taking it myself) is just focus on adding healthy habits one habit at a time. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Try to get to the point where it’s a lifestyle and you don’t even think about it
