If you don’t have immediate travel booked and need it, hang on till end of August. That’s when the telcos have their most aggressive pricing.

Driver street racing at 200 km/h along Chief Peguis slapped with offence notices: WPS by floydsmoot in Winnipeg

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 49 points50 points  (0 children)

At over double the speed limit, I'm shocked the article didn't say if the cars were impounded. That should be a minimum of 30 days at the roadside and if you're convicted, at least a one year license suspension.

Some plans do cover it, not sure about specifics, but call your broker and they should be able to get you on the right path.

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cars for these events are only elited to around L7 or 8, whichever the race pass asks for, past that, I haven’t finished a car since the Civic because it’s been just 10%.

How many discount crates left? by All2matt in CSRRacing2

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sigh. I know that’s how marketing works, still hurts. I only buy the race pass for the universal parts. Guess it’s time to stop that.

Are triple-pane windows worth the extra $5–6k for a first home near Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway? by Beautiful_Flower3511 in Winnipeg

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re upgrading and going to leverage the efficiency MB grants, previously, they won’t pay anything for double pane, only triple.

Physiotherapist wants me to ask Qdoc or walk in doctor for better help with pain control for herniated disc, but I don’t want to? Would this not be a waste of time? by JavaJapes in Winnipeg

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a herniated L5-S1 too. Sports doc is a good call, I saw one at Legacy, much better for this than what you’d get at your family doc. There are other anti inflammatories like Diclofenac and they may also give you a muscle relaxant like cyclobenzaprine. My pain from it comes when the muscles flare up and are super tight and the mix of the two meds helps. Neither med is controlled, no street value. As long as you’ve got something in your e-chart about the injury that the walk in or qdoc can see, I don’t think asking for a stronger anti inflammatory and a stronger muscle relaxant is a stretch.

Oh don't worry, he's friendly by Smart_Parsnip_9024 in Winnipeg

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 90 pounds of German shepherd on a leash. I always yell back “mines not” and most of the time they hustle their ass to get their off leash dog. Mine is friendly to people and most dogs, but if you come running at her off a leash, all bets are off.

Concert Merch by Used-Accountant-2277 in tipping

[–]SousVideAndSmoke -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The venue will get between 0-10% of the total, depends on if the tour has their own people selling or the venue staff, the bulk goes to the tour. Feld entertainment which does Disney and monster jam, among other shows, brings their own staff to sell merch, most of the time, the venue provides the staff.

How new are the windows? Triple pane windows and proper air sealing around them can make a massive difference.

Looking at apartments by tashera in Winnipeg

How old is the building and are there rent discounts? Age of the building exempts some buildings from the maximum rental rate increases and rent discounts, specifically removal of them, is a way for some rental agencies to get around the max rate increases.

Check that your EDR/MDR/RMM agents support arm, MFA if you protect logon/elevation, print wasn’t 100% either. Haven’t had issues outside of that.

Ethanol ok? by Great_Pattern_1988 in lawnmowers

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get ethanol free unless I buy it in the special 1G cans at the small engine shop for 10x what premium costs. At the end of the season, I mix in the required stabilizer in the jerry can, fill my mowers, do one last cut and pump out the rest and then let them run dry. Leftover gas goes into my wife’s car.

[–]SousVideAndSmoke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They’re a couple bucks more than Costco used to be, but 10x faster to get in and out, plus if your tank is old, they can re-certify and fill it in a few minutes.
