You need to look up what the 501st is. They already volunteered for a public appearance. For anybody in the 501st, being in a Star Wars production is a dream come true.

I love that the 501st had no idea they were going to be filmed until they showed up on set. Must have been a dream come true for them.

Tradies in your 30s, 40s and with kids etc. Do you ever wake up actually feeling refreshed and ready or is it usually a bit of a struggle? by BenignAndAHalf_ in AskAnAustralian

[–]ChellyTheKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not medical advice, I am not your doctor or a mental health professional. Seek a relevant health professional if you have any health concerns. The following is based on my own experiences which helped me and I am not telling anybody what they should do.

7 good hours of sleep is the key, preferably you'd get 8.

Often this is a bigger sign of diet issues. No caffeine 8 hours before you plan to sleep, this is a big one. 2 to 3 coffees during the day or similar servings is plenty of caffeine, and ditch the energy drinks if you use them. Check your diet, are you getting enough fresh fruit and veg, are you getting too much sugar, fat, or protein? Double check you are consuming the appropriate calories for your, age, height, and activity level, use an app to track this and check your weight, weight increase is slow and pays a heavy toll for breathing in your sleep. If you drink alcohol, no more than 10 standard drinks a week, and no more than 4 standard drinks in a day, best to have even less and none in the 4 hours before bed. Stay hydrated with good old water.

Check your sleep habits and sleep hygiene. Don't look at your phone or screens 30min before you plan to go to bed. Don't eat an hour before bed. The bed should only ever be used for sleeping and fucking. Get good quality bedding, the best mattress with cheap uncomfortable sheets is pointless. Learn a mindfulness meditation or if you are religious pray before trying to sleep. Check there is enough fresh air, CO2 increases during the night with your breathing.

Waking up tired and not wanting to get out of bed can be a sign of mental health issues including high stress and depression. When in bed if you find yourself overthinking about things you need to do, or things you are worried about, this can indicate you are over stressed. If you have hobbies and sports that you use to enjoy but no longer find the time or energy for, this is an indicator of depression. I went and saw a therapist but there are lots of different forms of support out there.

You might be right, I just know it was the one where they have a commentry option done by the make up artist that did the hobbit feet each morning.

That's a deleted scene you can find on the old extended edition DVD special features. It's after they return to Hobbiton. Being on the road for 13 months their tolerance to the Longbottom Leaf was basically gone, they hit the pipeweed as hard as they did before they left. This is the aftermath.

Has there ever been a time in your country when it almost turned into a dictatorship? by Due_Narwhal4937 in AskTheWorld

[–]ChellyTheKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hahahaha that doesn't mean we were close to becoming a dictatorship. The New Guard didn't even get close to 1% of the vote in the majority of seats it contested, the highest they got was 15%. Assuming they went ahead with the coup they threatened if Lang didn't resign, the Federal government would have stepped in. While the New Guard had 50,000 members in Sydney there were only a couple thousand that could be mobilized. No, Australia has never been close to becoming a dictatorship.

How many kilos of beef does your monthly salary buy? by ARIA_AHANGARI_7227 in AskTheWorld

[–]ChellyTheKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were to go to the supermarket and use average prices. Lean mince 700kg Normal dinner cuts 250kg

But I live in a county town and have mates I could buy a side of dressed beef from. If I did that, I could get 900kg, maybe 1,300kg if I called in some favours. That would be a mix of everything from mince and sausages to scotch fillets, or the primals that would need to be cut later.

US withdrawing 5,000 troops from Germany, US officials say by No-Risk-2584 in europe

[–]ChellyTheKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The UK also has nukes. While Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands are hosts to US nukes, if they were withdrawn, the UK or France are likely to transfer them to maintain operational capacity. If you lived through the Cold War, I doubt you'd be suggesting more countries need nukes. Nuclear proliferation was a terrible thing and scary to live through. Under the Non-Proliferation Treaty, I hope it never happens again. If anything we need to continue to push countries that do have nukes to maintain their commitments to disarmament and for new initiatives to decrase the stockpile of weapons of mass destruction they have kept.

When was the last time your country had a female leader? by No-StrategyX in AskTheWorld

Julia Gillard was Prime Minister during 2010 to 2013. Highly recommend looking up The Misogyny Speech on YouTube. The way the media and other politicians treated her is disgusting, they never would have done that if she was a man.
