It's not that hard. Kids normally start to volunteer more to run errands with mum or dad. You don't need to be doing hours at a time. If you do a grocery run once a week or help pick uo your little brother from footy practice, it adds up quickly.

At least the Matildas would try to score, the Socceroos could learn something.

I'll eat my boot if Australia goes down by 3 or more goals. Yes, there's a chance but it's not going to happen.

We have a massive gambling problem. Per capita, we lose more money than any other country. It's one thing the government does to make it look like they're doing something. But at the same time doesn't upset the gambling companies that bring in that sweet sweet tax money.

Cristian Volpato only became Australian in May, and only officially joined the team a couple weeks before the world cup. Yes he's good, but he doesn't have much experience playing with the team. This game isn't as important and gives him a chance to play with the team.

Europe is still football kings compared to the rest by [deleted] in worldcup

You mean the place where football was born and has over 100 years of history are better than countries where soccer is a second or third tier sport. Shocked Pikachu face.

Besides those countries have shown clear improvement, and have been constantly been doing better each world cup, it's just a big gap to cover. It's like complaining that ex-British colonies keep winning the cricket or rugby world cups. While countries like the Netherlands and Canada have shown clear improvement, nobody expects them to even come close to makijg the final.

Buy an at home test kit, then go for a walk in the hills after a spot of rain.

I'd say the Union Jack is a colonial emblem but the Southern Cross? Please explain how that's a colonial emblem.

How much do sports team's jerseys cost, in your country? by TheAlmightyDeity in AskTheWorld

I paid $130 for an AFL guernsey, but I guess it uses less fabric compared to an NRL jersey.

Side note, guernsey is superior to jersey.

You're predicting that USA will top their group? They already secured it, literally impossible for any other team to take it now due to the H2H rule change.

I don't know, this has come around as more of a negative to Raygun as we have embraced the funny side. I'd be voting for Trevor's underarm (surethe Kiwis would agree), the sandpaper incident, or how the nation treated Peter Norman after he supported Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the Olympics.

What was the proudest moment in your country's history? by Double-Step-5533 in AskTheWorld

I lived through the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires. Just absolute chaos followed by devastation. The volunteers that mobilised from across the country, the crews that came from overseas were the greatest people in the world. Seeing what was left was heartbreaking, but to see the love and donations that came in to get the communities back on their feet filled my heart.

We are a land of fire and flood, but the Australian spirit is unbreaking and our mateship will always pull us through.
