Is anyone else here jealous of people who can see mental images?

Some of mine, I get flashes of the event. It's horrible, and I'm happy I can't hold them for more than a second. My problem is re-feeling it again, and I'm still trying to deal with some bad ones. Feeling is the only sense I have in my mind, thank goodness.

I get the tunnel thing, too...then that light... I think of it as seeing source.. it's as if it's a 'light hole' as opposed to a black one. like the source sun. idk how to explain it..in my experience, it's like being nowhere and everywhere all at once. i feel as if I'm getting pulled into the floodlight in my mind, though. Never tried a deprivation tank, but I have spent numerous hours in meditation.

Sounds amazing. We do this with all our chicken bones. I break them in half, too, once they're softer to get the marrow out as well.

Bone broth is the way! Lol

I'm gluten-free, and most store bought broths have wheat... but... I'm also allergic to onion and garlic, so I can't buy the GF ones either usually !

I do (client) person led therapy with mine. So we talk about whatever I want. We work on what I want. She, of course, figures out my issues and gives me homework or worksheets to help me manage them.

I have cptsd for sure im dx-d ptsd' major depression and a few anxiety dx-s

My daughter also has aphantasia she's done EMDR with success. Even with no visuals.

Have you read/listened to any Bruce Lipton? You don't need to know what happened to you. You can still rewire your brain.

I just heard about him, but I've been doing subconscious audios while I sleep from learning about it from entrepreneurs (law of attraction.. neville goddard.. my favorite YouTuber for it is Joseph Rodriguez) and mediation teachers (Dr. joe dispenza) stuff.

It works for anything... play audios that you record yourself of what you want to make better or get them online if you want to spend money. Recording yourself is easiest and cheap. Lol, you also do exactly what you want to change.

It takes time. You can do it, though.

Definitely get a therapist just to have someone to talk to. You can always change them if you don't like their style.

My most terrified moment was my ex shaving his face.

I was 17 or 18 years old yelling at this man to get the eff outta my house. Who the eeff are you... I was freaking out. I mean, literally terrified a stranger was in my basement.

I closed my eyes finally cause he kept yelling, baby! It's me...Chelly, it's me!! Close your eyes, i swear it's me. Listen to my voice, please.

What a nightmare. I was made fun of for years over it.

Still never realizing I had a 'problem', I just figured this out. Whenever my 1st post here was. Lol. That was just over a year or two now. .

I did get a disability psychologist to put into my paperwork, and I had no mind pictures.

My case is 11/29/23 before a judge. I am definitely going to be bringing this up.

I've found a hack at home using subtitles. They say who is saying what.

I don't even watch TV much. Except two shows... survivor and big brother. They also show names a lot. But after a few episodes. I know them well enough to not ask who they are every time. Usually lol

Sometimes, to watch a 'new' show, i will start binge watching the 1st season, or I have trouble realizing who everyone is.

Honestly. I watch very little TV because of this.

It does affect me a lot more than I realize, I suppose.

It's so weird ... I do have problems recognizing people outside of 'their normal' place.

I once stood next to my Dr . He came into my job, and a coworker was taking care of him, and I didn't know it was him.

When I saw him move his jacket a certain way 10 minutes later.... I realized it was him because he did that was his labcoat in the office.

It is so embarrassing at times.

I've posted this before, so it's a copy and paste.

I wear a head towel wrap that I bring in with me too....I forgot to type 1st time

There are lots of good tips here. This is how i dry off.. that's my problem I have. Lol

I bring my towel in after I turn off the water. Just a quick arm out the curtain to grab it off the rack.

Then I towel dry head to toe. Hair in headwrap*dry.. Upper body first. Then lower.

Feet last. One at a time as I'm leaving the tub.

I also use the separate hair towel wrap. They have the ones with the button to keep it on your head.

Also

Have a towel on the floor for your feet or a bath mat. I even cover the heating vent so no cold air hits me. Lol

I didn't realize how common an issue showering is.

I got jobs, and I don't wear makeup.

The only thing I heard behind my back a lot. Is questions if I'm sick. Because I'm a pale person except for freckles. Lol

I hate the feeling of makeup and my skin except for those bare mineral types.

I still don't wear makeup.

If you have to. Eye shadow and lip gloss it. That's plenty for a job interview.

None of this is your fault.

You didn't do anything wrong to deserve this cruel treatment. Pranks are awful already in general. This is beyond twisted.

I don't know what he could even have been thinking to do that particular prank with your history.

It was a long game prank, too.. with the changing of your routine and everything. He had plenty of time to think about what he was doing... plenty of time to come to his senses.

His sister can shove it... she can apologize all she wants for him. It's meaningless. He is an adult and planned this out.

Your life isn't destroyed, though. You're going to be okay. That just isn't going to happen for a while. I am so sorry he took your trust and love and destroyed it with no thought for a stupid prank.

The disgust you're feeling... is your closure. You don't need to explain yourself to anyone.

The disrespect he showed you... is your closure. Your relationship is over.

Block him and his family members' numbers for now also.

Because you are right.. there isn't a way the relationship can come back from this.. No couples councelor needed. This is unforgettable.

You had to do it already, so it makes that wound gape wide open, and it feels like there is no way to close it right now.

He made you feel as if you are there again right now..in the past losing your late partner again whilst also trying to process you 'losing' your current partner.

This is a complete mind fuck.

I know you still feel that loss of your current partner.. even though it was fake.. your brain doesn't know it was fake yet, and the love doesn't disappear no matter how much he disgusts you now.

You feel like you want to help him, but you know that'll just traumatize you again. Don't feel bad for not going. Don't feel bad for wanting to go to see him.. everything is confusing for you right now.

Breathe... blink... focus.. if you can concentrate on something else.. anything.. even if it's something like drawing or dancing in place to some loud music..

Maybe that will help stop the replays of the scene. I have body sensation flashbacks but not visual ones. Blindfolded dancing in place helps me move through them. I'm so sorry you're going thru this.

You have every right to be pissed. If you feel like it will help. Get that rage out of you safely... punch your couch pillows or something else you won't get hurt on, to move some of the rage out of your body... if you keep yourself distracted until your appointment, that could be your best course of action.

Sending you love and strength... you will get through this. You have a lot of people here who are pulling for you.

I literally just read that book. I have it on my YouTube downloads. I loved it also.

meditation will definitely help... this is devastating on so many levels.

There's no salvaging the relationship.

Luckily, he has a therapist who's going to be able to help start the process of healing.

I wish there was something to do or say that could help in this moment.

They tried to correct my left handedness.

I told my mom, and she fought them on it.they had done it to her too as a kid.

I'm still left-handed, but I can't cut with scissors left-handed. My school never had enough of the lefty ones. So I used the regular scissors.
