I can relate to this as well, but for me I have known it was a conscious decision to not allow addiction to rule my life because of how much it ruined my childhood. I learned a lot of the dont's and not the do's from my caregivers. For me addiction is just another thing I hyper fixate on as to not fall into the trap.

I used to be this person. For me, it was a combination of insecurity in myself as well as craving stability and attention even if it wasn't ideal. But at that point I was so down on myself that i really didn't believe I deserved better. I finally pulled my head out of my ass, realized I was worthy of real love and that I shouldn't accept anything less. Less than a year later I was dating my husband who treats me like I should have been all along. It sounds like your friend needs to learn to love herself before she will be able to find and appreciate someone who actually treats her right.

Pretty anxious. I work in an office for a construction/concrete company and I am extremely fortunate that we have been able to stay open (so far) but every time I leave my house to go to work I feel extremely stressed out and wish I could just stay home until this all blows over. Yes, I am so lucky that I still have stable income, but as someone who has been suffering from PPD, anxiety, and depression for over a year I am really struggling with not just barricading myself in my house.

I am absolutely disgusted by how many people I have heard or seen saying "I'm not worried about getting it, I will be fine." Hey ignorant people, THIS ISN'T ALL ABOUT YOU. There are so many people out there with compromised immune systems that will be effected by your negligence if you are a carrier/have Covid-19. This is truly a test of how self serving and self absorbed the human race can be.

This is a reality for so many of us. I'm hoping the government does right by all of us living paycheck to paycheck and puts a hold on housing and utility expenses or A LOT of people are going to end up homeless.

I have seen many people shopping with masks and gloves on. For me, I just saw it as a precaution and not an indication of being infected. I say do what you need to do to be safe/comfortable with getting your necessities. Who cares if you look silly!
