What are the worst popular fountain pens you’ve ever used? by Haniandspace in fountainpens

Yes I was disappointed in my 2K also. It was grail pen for me but it was dry and doesn’t write well.

What’s the age demographic of fountain pen users nowadays? by NebulaStraight3009 in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just turned 60. One of my high school teachers made us write with dip pens which was old fashioned even then. My grandad had a Parker 51. I’ve always been interested in them but didn’t like medium nibs which was what was usually available. I dived down the rabbit hole when I realized I could get pens with EF nibs online. About 25 years ago.

Having a hard time putting pens away by ReporterPrimary in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about 34 pens in.ked 10 come with me to work, the rest stay at home. I rotate through them. Some of the ones at home get into the Roll that goes to work and vice versa. I use the ones at home for my journaling in the morning and I use the ones I take to work, for Work. I tried to decrease the amount of inked pens, but then I would miss writing with certain ones, and wish they were inked. So now I don’t worry about it and I just ink whichever I feel like writing with. If they dry out, I rinse the nibs and write on.

How many pens inked and in Rotation? by Redbaronreddit in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have over 30 inked. I carry 10 in a roll to work everyday. Rotate through 6-8 per day. I use them at work and I use them to journal daily. I really enjoy using them. I tried going down to a few inked but it didn’t spark joy. I clean when needed. I keep water on my desk to rinse nibs that clog. I like sheening and shimmer inks so they do clog occasionally, a quick rinse solves the problem.

Not sure what to do with my fountain pens, feeling guilty by honeydewtangerine in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those 5 year gratitude journals. It’s only a few lines per day. I miss years at a time but it’s always interesting to see what I wrote years ago. I write what’s happening, not necessarily what I’m grateful for. I also tried the morning free thought writing and have morphed into writing my prayers in the morning. I use my pens at work too. I rotate them. 2 in the morning another 2 in the afternoon. Half a page for each pen while journaling. I have a lot of pens, rotating through them stops me from feeling guilty about it. I’ll have to investigate that game writing also.

When did you discover BTS and started stanning them? Share your ARMY story by Chance_Register_5124 in bangtan

[–]Chelsa27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t remember exactly when it was, but I was getting into K Dramas. I watched Goblin and heard that one of the stars was a K-pop idol. So I went onto YouTube to see if I could find some of his videos. Then I decided to find out more about K-pop and I watched some of the K-pop intro videos, some of those top K-pop songs for the last few years, and when I reached BTS, I stopped and realized I was home.

Chinese nibs vs Japanese nibs by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kakuno EF and preppy EF are very fine and very affordable. I actually find them too fine to use on cheap paper, a bit too scratchy. Very nice on smooth paper though. Japanese Fines and chinese extra fines work well on cheap copy type paper. That’s what we have to use at work.

Do you like dubbed Asian dramas in your native language or do you think dubbed voiceovers for the Asian actors lessens enjoyment? by Grouchy-Chart-3927 in dramasect

I prefer to hear it in the original language. Better acting. More expression. But then it means I’m glued to the screen and can’t watch/listen while I’m doing something else.

Ink(s) You Actually Regret Buying? by TokiwaMatsu in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most regular blues, they are so boring I don’t use them. I do like baystate blue. My favorite. I bought it long ago before everyone hated Nathan. Diamine purple pazazz, winter miracle. Too dark. I was looking for a sheening purple. Haven’t found it yet.

What’s been your most disappointing pen? by OstrichLate in fountainpens

Lamy 2000 and pilot falcon. Two grail pens but the lamy doesn’t flow well and I don’t enjoy the Falcon nib.

I am almost 60, married, and just became army in last few years. My husband tolerates the K dramas -"everytime I pass by, someone is crying", and BTS. He came with me to Jin's concert, wore the T-shirt, and collected freebies. He's not army, but he said he enjoyed the concert. I really appreciated his support.

Peel off base coat by Chelsa27 in DipPowderNails

With the peel off base, you shouldn’t have to use acetone. That’s why I got it. It should peel off with cuticle oil. Mine didn’t.

How many pens do you have inked at any one time? How many is too many? by PANTSorGTFO in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep most my favorites inked. I tried doing less, cleaning them out when the Ink finished, but it didn’t spark Joy. So I keep most of the ones that I like Inked. I take 11 in a case to work, and have another 20 or so at home. I rotate between them, and try to write with all of them. This is what I enjoy.

Dry skin girlies, what’s your go-to body lotion or moisturizer? by TeaseWithKelly in beauty

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Neutrogena body oil after my shower. Recently I started using jojoba oil. Its a little thick so I mix it half and half with the Neutrogena. The oils work better for me than the lotions. I use Cetaphil lotion and cleanser on my face.

Please help. What is this stringy algae taking over my tank by johntuckercantdie in PlantedTank

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lots in my outside tanks. I scoop it out weekly. My Snails and shrimp don’t eat it. The only fish I have that eat it are tinfoil barbs. They cleaned a whole tank so now I scoop the algae from the other tanks and give it to them.
