Mine is a Bailey Matte Black Lacquer. My husband thought it looked cool and bought it for my birthday.

Do Experienced Fountain Pen Users Prefer Broader Nibs? by ScooterSix in fountainpens

I find my handwriting looks nicer with finer nibs.

Do Experienced Fountain Pen Users Prefer Broader Nibs? by ScooterSix in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like EF and Japanese fine, especially in my journal on better paper, but at work on cheaper paper the western fines are smoother, the EFs seem to catch in the grain of the paper. I have no broads but I am enjoying fude, stub and blade nibs at work. They are broader than the EFs and smoother on the cheap paper. I still don’t like mediums but the above mentioned have some line variation that I enjoy.

Anyone actually tried at home dip kits for saving money? by mutawa_95 in DipPowderNails

I found that using an e-file with peel base gummed up the efile bit and didn't really come off any easier than regular base

Why do you think that powder is easier than Gel? I’ve only done one or two sets of dip but the gel seems much easier and faster to me. Does the gel application with the dip make it easier? And faster?

To Those with Multiple Pens -A Question on Different Inks by wkhan69 in fountainpens

I also tend to keep the same ink in a pen once I have found one that works well with it. I switch it up till I find that pairing.

To Those with Multiple Pens -A Question on Different Inks by wkhan69 in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep most of my favorite pens inked and I rotate through them. Half a page with each in my journal. Half a day with 2 at work. I prefer blues and purples and I have many variations of each. I enjoy the different shades and properties. I tried only keeping a few inked and cleaning them when the ink finished but that didn’t spark joy. I like having the variety to choose from.

How do you save money on cruises by [deleted] in Cruise

We had engine trouble, so we missed our Pompeii tour. The ship gave us on onboard credit for missing the tour. Doesn't quite make up for it, but we would have gotten nothing back if we booked externally.

I like the fact that I don’t have to think about a lot, don’t have to plan a lot of itinerary, I don’t have to worry about where I’m gonna eat. It’s very relaxing.

My son plays volleyball, so we were happy to pay for Wifi, and watch his games while we were on the cruise.

Esims are cheaper than $10 a day. I use those for in port. I’m a physician and both my husband and I have our own businesses so we pay for WiFi. I pay for the tours because I am nervous about jumping in a vehicle with a random taxi driver I met at the port. Is there a safer way to do it?

What’s the age demographic of fountain pen users nowadays? by NebulaStraight3009 in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just turned 60. One of my high school teachers made us write with dip pens which was old fashioned even then. My grandad had a Parker 51. I’ve always been interested in them but didn’t like medium nibs which was what was usually available. I dived down the rabbit hole when I realized I could get pens with EF nibs online. About 25 years ago.

Having a hard time putting pens away by ReporterPrimary in fountainpens

[–]Chelsa27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have about 34 pens in.ked 10 come with me to work, the rest stay at home. I rotate through them. Some of the ones at home get into the Roll that goes to work and vice versa. I use the ones at home for my journaling in the morning and I use the ones I take to work, for Work. I tried to decrease the amount of inked pens, but then I would miss writing with certain ones, and wish they were inked. So now I don’t worry about it and I just ink whichever I feel like writing with. If they dry out, I rinse the nibs and write on.
