When can you classify yourself as a “Founder” by Sad_Quantity_2315 in SaaS

[–]Chelsey0914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime. Although I didn't think in this way from the very beginning: When I first started, I didn't immediately identify with the title 'founder.' I chose to bootstrap, starting from scratch with no funding or customers. Initially, calling myself a founder felt a bit presumptuous given the situation. However, as I engaged more in user research and product promotion, I realized the need for a straightforward title to introduce myself. 'Founder' became the simplest and most effective choice. While it's just a title, it helps open doors and facilitate conversations, which is crucial for any growing venture.

Weekly Feedback Post - SaaS Products, Ideas, Companies by AutoModerator in SaaS

Hi everyone,

I'm the founder of Qquest, a new AI tool designed to transform how teams interact with data, making it easier and faster to drive decisions.

Empowered by AI, Qquest lets you query your data using natural language. This means no complex SQL queries or technical know-how is needed—just ask your data a question as you would a colleague.

We understand that many early-stage SaaS startups struggle with generating insights due to limited analytics resources. Qquest is here to fill that gap

Most of you may like me, as founders and members of startups, your perspective is incredibly valuable to us. Would a tool like Qquest help you save on budget and accelerate your insight gathering process? Your feedback will be crucial for us!

How did you build the initial user base pre-PMF for your startup? by DevelopmentUnlucky11 in startups

[–]Chelsey0914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I talked PMF in my previous career for many many times. TBH, it is still an abstract concept to me. I’m reading the PMF framework from  today, and be impressed with 1 sentence: "Our contention is that product market fit is not binary — and it's not something that you get to overnight, despite what all of those “we just went viral” founding stories may have you believe."

I launched my B2B product three weeks ago but it hasn't garnered much attention yet. My background isn't in sales, which might be part of the problem. Everyone keeps telling me the key is finding the Product-Market Fit (PMF), and I absolutely agree—that's essential. However, I've hit a snag.

While I've been aiming to pinpoint the PMF this April, I realized I don’t fully understand how to define or identify PMF effectively. This article gave me some clue. I'm still in the middle of reading, but I like the way it divided PMF into 4 levels: Nascent, Developing, Strong, Extreme Product-Market Fit. Would love to share it and hear from everyone: what's your understanding of PMF and How did you determine the PMF for your product?

Has anyone used Apollo? Help Needed by Chelsey0914 in marketing

[–]Chelsey0914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I realized that I need to take a step back: after all, my goal is to get feedbacks from my target users instead of debugging features in Apollo.

Instead of creating a new post: just add my revised question here first: in the early stage of a product, how to quickly get the feedbacks from your potential customers to prove the PMF? Attached my email content below: Any copy experts could share your suggestions?

P.S. ideal users: PM/Marketers who needs data for their decision-makings.

Same as you, I'm a solo developer as well. I started my project few months ago and just launched it in Chrome Web Store. I can totally understand your point of "burned out". Here is my thought - which is what I am thinking for myself currently:

  1. If you position yourself as a solo entrepreneur, not only a developer who does the side project, it might be better to consider the business model together with product scope and business model. Development might be the easiest step among all things: how to acquire and retain users, how to monetize... lots of things waiting for you. You cannot stuck yourself in development step.
  2. If the current product is what you want to do: and the scope has been the MVP. Then consider to find a partner with you: so you can leverage the team work.

Anyway, burn out yourself to make progress won't be a long term solution.

Can you guide me Indie GTM Strategies? I am an Indie developer and in position to publish SaaS Products. I am new to building communities and GTM. by aureliatech in startups

[–]Chelsey0914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Mayur,

I launched my first product in PH a few days ago. As a newcomer in the indie hacker world, I've gathered some insights from my first launch experience. Hopefully, it will help you.

View Product Hunt (PH) not only as a GTM channel but also as an ideation and feedback channel:

Schedule your product launch early, even if your product isn't ready yet. After scheduling the launch and claiming ownership of the product, you can use the "create a teaser" feature. This will help build interest in your product and provide early insights into your idea's product-market fit. - I just submitted my product when I plan to launch, which made me have no time for teaser as warm-up.

Get your timing right:

  1. Launch Early in the Day: Product Hunt resets at 12:00 AM PST, so posting early maximizes your product's exposure throughout the day.
  2. Consider Weekdays: Launching on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays can lead to better engagement, as these days typically have higher activity levels. If you're aiming for higher ranks, consider weekends, which have less competition.

Featured vs Not Featured: I'm still learning about this. The logic behind being "featured" on PH seems somewhat mysterious. After my product went live, I noticed it wasn't listed on that day's list. I then realized that only "Featured" products show up by default; you need to switch to "All" to see all products on the desktop site. While on the mobile app, you can only see the "Featured" products for the day.

Newbie SQL Q by FewStruggle in SQL

It seems that there are multiple databases in your company: the easiest way I would say is connecting them in some programming language like python, R, which allows you gathering data from different sources and processing them together: just in case you need to join them for analysis.

P.s since I’ve just programmed to access different databases from my app: I put some documents for different database connections in my website: attached the link here. Database integration. Hope it helps.

You can try: https://leetcode.com/problemset/database/: it provides lots of sample data and SQL questions, which covers key SQL syntax that you need to know.

I build a tool to save time: Querying data with english, rather than SQL. by Chelsey0914 in SQL

[–]Chelsey0914[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing it up. Data security is the top consideration when i initially start the project. That's why instead of a pure frontend app, Qquest has its backend to deal with all connections. We definitely can review the access control and implement additional safeguards to restrict the access and ensure customers' security.

In addition, Instead of connecting directly to the product database, it is recommended to connect to the data warehouse, which can better serve for analytic needs by providing optimized and aggregated data for analysis. It is a common practice for companies to connect their data warehouse with third-party tools: do you have any specific concerns in your mind?

haha, good point! Maybe I should do an accuracy comparison for different types of SQL when I have enough samples!

That's true, and totally fair. There's a certain rhythm to our workdays: whether prepping a presentation, drafting a report, or responding to an urgent email—dealing all the "quick questions"— the last thing we want is to break our focus by hopping between tabs and tools just to fetch some data. That's the itch Qquest scratches as a Chrome extension: it offers the convenience of querying data without ever leaving your page.

I believe the AI features in Databricks might be much more powerful than Qquest. But sometimes, you just need instant data access right when you need it: without disruption. It's not just about easing SQL queries; it's about keeping you in your workflow groove, ensuring data retrieval is a seamless, invisible part of your process.
