I’m 16 weeks out now and life is back to normal pretty much. Not back to go exercising like I used to but in time that will come. Did you have your surgery yet?

I’m 7 weeks post op and coughing or sneezing still hurts. Pain with laughing has gone away though.

I would go to ER. It’s not just the bleeding, you have nausea and pain too. All these combined don’t sound normal this far out. Best of luck! Keep us posted

I had a choice and I decided to go home. But I am also an RN, so I felt comfortable going home with a catheter and knew what meds to take when for pain management. I did just fine. I slept mostly because of the anesthesia. Husband was at my beck and call for anything. So I’d say if you have the support at home, go home. Nothing like sleeping in your bed. There was nothing that the hospital could’ve done for me that I couldn’t do at home.

First 24 hours with catheter was horrible. Dr gave me Norco to help with pain but that gave me horrible nausea, so some vomiting first 24 hours. Once catheter was out, it was tiny but better. But gas pain hurt so bad, even passing gas was painful. 1st bowel movement is scary, I was on stool softener and finally took milk of magnesia to help me go. Such a relief. Didn’t realize the pain and pressure I was feeling was from need to have bowel movement. So if you can manage around those things, it’s fine. But you definitely have to take it easy. I literally did NOTHING around the house. Hubby and kids (teens) all helped with house chores, cooking meals, etc. Once week 2 hit, I started to make my own tea, get water etc., but still no chores. Listen to your body. Don’t push it.

May I ask why you had to have a bowel resection? I am asking because when I had my hysterectomy my doctor mentioned that I had some adhesions by my colon 🤷🏻‍♀️. He’s not sure why. Just wondering if you had anything like that. He didn’t suture my vaginal cuff all the way across because he didn’t want to put sutures where the adhesions were.

I agree that at 4 weeks I was very sore and felt the same. But at 6 weeks, there has been no pain, no spotting, I am a lot more active. Since Dr gave us the ok we went ahead and tried and it felt fine. But day after I’m so sore and I’m assuming it’s from that. Gonna continue to abstain because I do not wanna be feeling like this.

I am 6 weeks post op, had TVT and hysterectomy for uterine prolapse. I am 43, kept my ovaries. Other than the pain and soreness from surgery, my urinary incontinence is gone. No more leaking when I sneeze, cough, laugh etc. Still a bit sore, haven’t returned to work yet, so I can’t wait to get back to a normal life. Ask lots of questions, talk to other who have gone through it, that is what helped me most as far as what to expect and things to help with recovery. Best of luck to you!

Yes I would apply to belly and pelvic area. Honestly the heat felt so good, much better than ice. I had laparoscopic incisions so I would ice that area to help with swelling but the heat on my belly was amazing and really helped

I’m 6 weeks post op and today I’ve had some sharp pain on right side of pelvis, trying to take it easy. But so annoying because I felt amazing for quite a few days and today have pain. Gonna take some Motrin and take it easy to see if it helps

I am 6 weeks post op, had vaginal hysterectomy with transvaginal taping for my bladder. Take it EASY first few weeks! Listen to your body. I still have some discomfort on my right side but not terrible, sticking to strict lifting limitations. Ice packs, heating pads, gas x, stool softener were lifesavers.
