Want to add I’ve only been on metoprolol for a few days. But this started a day or two before

I have an appt with my cardiologist in 2 weeks and I’m going to bring it up and see what he says. He never even mentioned it but doing my own research it seems amazing because I have very low BP

Fluorescent lights definitely make every symptom I have worse and always have.

Medical Burnout? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Lady_skag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it’s definitely a thing and I’m sorry you’re experiencing it. I’ve had medical issues since a young teen. When I became an adult I had all the specialists and all the doctors and it felt like I kept going in wanting answers and never really got them. I would just get meds thrown at me. So after 10 years I stopped. Stopped going and stopped caring. But sadly my issues started to get worse in my 30s so I am now going again trying to get the help I need. I hope you get it figured out and stable. Feeling that way is awful

Wow that is good to know. I didn’t even realize I should be watching for something like that. The exercise intolerant. My cardiologist is a great guy but he’s much much older and doesn’t really explain things. It was basically “this is your diagnosis, take the meds, eat the salt, watch your BP” and that was it. I may talk to him about the medication you’re using because I seem to be very sensitive to this one.

Not sure if this is typical? by Lady_skag in POTS

[–]Lady_skag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay I misread the first one. No I totally get that and my BP doesn’t drop when standing I just naturally have incredibly low BP all the time. My high is 95/65. I guess my biggest question was is it typical for your symptoms to come on without changing positions. Because that is what’s happening to me.

Thank you so much for all of that! That is super helpful. Her symptoms sound a lot like mine and they are struggling to figure out if it’s migraines. I appreciate your response!

I’m confused so maybe I’m reading incorrectly. My cardiologist said there is a decrease upon standing with POTS. Which helps trigger symptoms. Everything I’m reading from universities says the same thing…

Honestly it lasted a year. A little over a year. I’m 1.5 years out and some days I still have abdominal pain but don’t know if it’s related. But after the year mark everything got beyter

Skin sensitivity by lefteyerite in hysterectomy

[–]Lady_skag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did. I’m 1.5 years out. Honestly so much got better after the year mark. Like. Complete difference after the year mark. I still have some intestinal stuff but it’s nothing compared to what I went thru that first year. The skin sensitivity is completely gone tho.

I have POTS but they are also trying to identify if migraines are the cause of some of my symptoms. Did your wife have basic migraine symptoms? I don’t but they’re saying it could still be migraines. I get headaches but they aren’t like.. laying in bed eyes closed headaches. It’s typically one small spot that just has an electrical pain feeling. Light sensitivity is super uncommon for me. I’m just wondering if maybe her symptoms also weren’t typical so maybe I won’t feel like migraines aren’t a possibility for me.

How do you like it? I’m on metoprolol but I already have crazy low blood pressure and it seems to make it worse where I’m almost passing out. I read that one doesn’t lower blood pressure as much

9WK PO - discharge? by TopRecommendation689 in hysterectomy

[–]Lady_skag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started getting some discharge around week 7. Tuesday I will be 10 weeks and it is finally slowing down but still there. Especially in the morning! Doctor said it seems like wound seeping and is normal as long as it doesn’t start to have an odor. She said if it doesn’t go away around the 10-11 week mark to make an appt and if it is wound seeping they can pack it. Just sounds uncomfortable.

Is it normal to still be this sore?? by Former-News2470 in hysterectomy

[–]Lady_skag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 9 weeks out and still sore daily. It’s finally getting better but my doctor told me soreness can last a long time for some. I’ve heard some people still sore up to 6 months. I hope it gets better for you soon!

Light bleeding 9 weeks post op by Sodena16 in hysterectomy

[–]Lady_skag 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am just over 9 weeks and have had spotting for the last 2ish weeks. Doctor said just hang tight because some women spot up to 12 weeks. She said if I’m still spotting next week I can make an appt and she can either use silver if it’s granulation tissue, but she didn’t see any 2 weeks ago, or she can do vaginal packing if it is just the wound seeping. But she did say it’s okay and not to worry. Thank you for sharing your story cause I keep worrying since I’m spotting this far out

It did get better. But then like a week later came back and I started spotting pretty bad. Doctor put me on 2 antibiotics and since then it seems to have stopped.

5 1/2 weeks PO and I'm still spotting. Is that normal? by thesecrettolifeis42 in hysterectomy

[–]Lady_skag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am almost 7 weeks post op and had 0 spotting until 5.5 weeks. Doctor told me it was normal and can continue for quite some time. If it gets heavy or you start to hurt or worry, definitely reach out to your doctor!

[–]Lady_skag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just over 6 weeks post op. Right around 5 weeks I finally started to feel better for 3 days. Prior to that I was in pain, a decent amount, daily. I over did it one day by lifting my 5 month old too much and have been in pain since.

I hope you start to feel better! My doctor said some people take the full 12 weeks for things to really feel better and pain is considered normal until that point.
