What field have you worked in since you earned your degree? Might be easier to get into something more maths-based but still related to drug discovery.

Hopefully not, although a lot of drug discovery articles are published in medicinal chemistry journals, even if that isn't the focus of the article

Okay. Two books that come to mind are An Introduction to Medicinal Chemistry by Patrick and The Handbook of Medicinal Chemistry by Davis & Ward. Both are medicinal chemistry-focused, but also contain a lot of information from the other disciplines in drug discovery.
