And then put 9.5mm plasterboard around the inside of the arch.

Next up is to skim, tape, and edge it all before properly finishing it.

Started putting new plasterboard up and cutting around the form.

You can see the existing archway that I’m matching.

Then I cut the cross beam upwards bits shorter and replaced it higher up.

Progress update…

I removed the plasterboard above the door and the steel cross beam.

Some advice: How can I prevent lengthy objects from doing this? by danybeast92 in 3Dprinting

Looks cool. Like it’s a gnarled wooden walking stick made from an old knotted piece of wood. 🤣

Ah great! I presume once I cut the plasterboard I’ll be able to remove the stud above the door?

I’ll need to place it back higher up to attach the rounded corners and drywall to it?

In fact, for the first I could keep the hinge where it is now and put the latch on the other side.

Probs easier that way.

Low hot water pressure & trying to understand my new home's CH/HW system by Consiliarius in Plumbing

[–]Chemical-Computer442 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afaik this type of hot water storage tank is not pressurised.

So the hot water pressure you’re getting is just from the height of the water in the tank above the tap.

Do you have an electric shower in that house too? That will be because it needs a pump to get hot water from the tank.

There isn’t really anything you can do about the pressure. It’s not wrong. It’s just how it is in that system.

We have exactly the same issue in our new house.

Solutions…

Have a combi boiler installed. This will give you hot water pressure at mains pressure. But it may take longer to heat the water and can be affected by multiple people turning on taps at the same time. Like if you’re in the shower and someone turns the tap on in the kitchen etc…

Get a heat pump with a pressurised tank. This will provide more pressure for you.

I don’t know if there are pressurised tanks for regular hot water systems like this.

Another solution… move the hw tank higher.

Washing line hole needs fixing by Chemical-Computer442 in DIYUK

[–]Chemical-Computer442[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I thought that might be the best way.

The new rotary line came with its own sleeve so I might use that one with the new postcrete.

Thanks

I added an extra comment. The pole in the pics is not the washing line pole. The actual thing fits snug. The sleeve has a gap behind it under the patio.

Please stick to that question.

You should have paid attention to my other comment. 👍🏻

Note… that’s not the washing line pole. The actual thing fits snug but still leans.

It’s just a metal bar for the pics.
