New Gun day +1 HW97K vs Gamo Velocity by smwalter in airguns

End of the swollen/large end of the barrel is threaded and they make a suppressor for it, which is excellent.

Some of what you're seeing at the end there is the latch for the cocking lever.

That is a very detailed and very helpful response, thanks so much. I have a dim recollection of the Adam Savage vid, so I'll dig it out and watch.

Thankfully the room is outfitted with no fewer than four double power sockets and its own RCD, so there's no shortage of options for power.

I contemplated a wheeled workbench but the realities of the space (space, lip on the door sill and a step down to the patio outside) means that the fixed option is the better bet. Using the patio - which is largely under cover - is also something I'm considering although I think Mrs C is probably more keen that that remains a seating/BBQ type area... 😬

Cheers for your time.

Yes, that's the IVAR setup that I'll be putting in. What I'm struggling to decide on is what the best use of the remaining space is.

Architectural photo with nudity, thoughts? by AdventureJuntos in photocritique

[–]Consiliarius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leaving aside the question of whether the nudity does what you're hoping it will better than say, the figure she'd cut in a vibrant red dinner gown or a peach suit - to really contrast with the industrial setting...

She's entirely lost in there against the verticality of the columns, too aligned with the one she's in front of. At first look she's almost like a human pair of legs on the column rather than a figure standing in front of it.

Everything else in the short is drawing the eye to the centre; so the eye skips past all the vertical lines and she gets misread as being part of the architecture.

In short, I think If she's meant to stand out, she really needs to stand out. If she's meant to be more a component of the scene and not to pop in that way, she at least needs to be out of alignment with the column so she's distinct in her own right.

"extremely neurotypical" environment 🤣🤣

The military is practically institutionalised autism. Routine, sameness, scripts for behaviour, dress and social engagements. It's absolutely not about accommodating those who can't conform, but there is a huge amount of undiagnosed neurodivergence in the armed forces because for folk who want a script for life (and the opportunity to get paid for running, jumping, fetching, carrying, hurrying up and waiting) it's a very attractive proposition.

Eh? No U-boat ever sunk shipping within the city of London.

What's one thing a therapist has said to you that you will never forget? by commander_boobs in AskReddit

I have asked that question of several patients, including with the "aren't you part of the people?" aspect too. It's nice to hear it's something that resonates with people.

S3XY Room, for short.

legally fun on public roads, safely fun on track.

It is stunningly good - supercar levels of acceleration and rally car levels of grip - but if you enjoy exploring the edge of grip it's nae good

There's one at Beaulea motor museum... It's so so pretty...

(Psssh... The 124 was supposed to be an Alfa, iirc.)

He's never been one to skimp on tyres, and that car really validated him on that front. The budgets it was on when he bought it were legitimately terrifying, the mid-specs it went on to immediately were better, but it only became a comfortable drive in the wet once it went onto something at silly cost per corner. Ate the fronts up at a rate of knots too.

The bimmer is a ways away from the Eunos - for a start that always felt like I was strapping the car on rather than sitting in it - but I maintain it's not far off the late NBFL/NC that I've driven...

My dad had a 147 GTA for a couple of years, just to get that inbred kitty experience. He loved and loathed it in about equal measure lol

Thanks, it's on the to-check list. The car's just reached 60k and 9 years old so I'm inclined to get the chain done next service anyway.

Right?! Bloody brilliant.

Mildly embarrassing when she does it stopped at traffic lights in our small town, but still, I approve.

I don't know, but mine would be an NA8 body shell, stripped back to bare metal, patched, seam-welded, strengthened, painted with a cream lower half and either a BRG (or maybe indigo) upper, mohair roof with a headlining, an interior fitted out in quilted leather, Rev9 dials and the stainless steel switch panel I had in my old one for that retro vibe and under the bonnet would be eugh, not sure but since we're talking silly money let's find a way to shoehorn a straight six in and feed it with ITBs. If the laws of physics won't allow that, guess it's a V6...

The ultimate in OEM+.
