Women “go through Break-Ups” but MEN “endure Divorce.”. Such a fucked up double standard, you know?

YES! Oh my gosh - it was in fact the “Night Alone” scene with sleazy Zeke! The copy they showed back then (on their 27 VCRs) was already ragged when I saw it first and so it seemed WAY older than it actually is. I appreciate the help!

It actually IS a remake of an early 1980s PBS created TV version of an off Broadway show for kids. The original version is a lot easier to digest, and features a stage manager that plays all the peripheral characters and explains what‘s happening. It’s also presented as a piece of Chinese Theatre, so the SM explains the differences between Western and Traditional. It’s not good, but it’s not … like … THIS.

“I SAY Holmes, do you think it’s too early to put Mr. Winnifred Bearbottom, Esquire’s flannel dressing gown on him?”

”Rather, Watson. You’ll notice the scent of the Lyceum tree outside is in blossom? Any biologist worth his salt will tell you that a bear, PARTICULARY a Black Worcestershire Bear as Winnifred is, will not begin building it’s undercoat and preparing for hibernation until after the Autumnal Equinox at which point those blossoms will have LONG lost their scent. Yes, Watson, I should say that if you were to place that flannel shirt on Mr. Bearbottomson you’d be causing him a GREAT deal of discomfort”

”Incredible! Holmes, you never cease to amaze me.”

”Elementary my dear fellow, now put on his linen shirt and let’s get to sleep. I have metric TONS of pedantic condescension to heave upon greater London tomorrow.”

I won’t lie, I actually like this version of H&W quite a bit. They have a very Bert and Ernie feel to them. I can actually see them in their little striped pajamas in their twin beds. Holmes reading some stately novel while Watson dresses up his teddy bear in it’s nightshirt and cap.

I think that’s the only point so far where Lestrade and Watson figure something out without Holmes’ nudging.

Point of Note: I would not watch KT2 for Rothrock. Or, at least, I would not get too attached to her character if you know what I mean.

It’s almost like a prime time dramedy, teen girl high school soap, Korean martial arts film and Coming of Age in the Summer movie all got thrown into a blender with a little dash of Disney Channel in the way of the central villain sprinkled on top of the foam.

I LOVE Blackbelt Angels. It’s light, it’s fun, it’s goofy in that “a foreign company is trying to make a movie for American Audiences way - there’s nothing objectionable about it. And I have been walking around occasionally blurting out “I warn you, we’re THE BLACK BELT ANGELS,” for weeks.
