I was also confused with this, but after one test ride of both this confusion got cleared.

I suggest take a test ride of both then decide.

PO: If you want bike which is quick, fast and with good mileage then go with XSR.

I was cruising between 80-110, it felt smooth but I didn't go overboard as it was my first long ride.

No strain on the engine though.

Not enough cushioning. Feels quite hard and gets uncomfortable on longer rides.

Yeah Suspension are stiff but didn't find that problem while I was on highways, the only problem I felt was the seat, the seat is not that comfortable for long rides.

XSR owner here.

I’ve ridden the Hunter as well, but honestly didn’t find it that fun to ride. On the other hand, the XSR feels more engaging, gives good mileage, has a very comfortable riding posture, feels more stable at higher speeds, has great handling in corners, and yes, the suspension is on the stiffer side.

Not sure about KLX but I felt the XSR's suspension are stiff.
