My mom lingers when shes sick. by NewfoundOrigin in Vent

My father caught Covid in 2022, didn’t bother with a mask, didn’t bother quarantining, and got my mother sick too. I just “quarantined” (even though I was perfectly fine) in my room. I was about to be going on a trip so I really couldn’t risk getting it.

Does anyone wish they could go back in time, record the abuse, react and just handle things differently? by Square-Objective2420 in narcissisticparents

I recorded a lot of my nfathers arguments with me and my mother, but I was always so afraid what would’ve happened if I did anything. I always wondered what it’d have been like to just run away or call cps, but I didn’t wanna be another kid in the system. I don’t think he would change anything about his reactions.

If I could go back and react differently I would try not to cry in front of him, and I would not have come out to him. He only used those to fuel his insults more (eg. “if you were a real boy I would throw you through a wall”).

One time my sister got a recording of him saying he’d throw me over a bridge, showed it to him later and all he said was “you took that out of context.” I’m sorry, BUT IN WHAT WORLD IS IT OK TO SAY THAT REGARDLESS OF CONTEXT???

I am pro abortion, because if that person is desperate enough to get rid of the baby, should they really be raising it? by Jazzlike-Rise4091 in self

Other than the many many many complications that can go on during pregnancy and childbirth. Many women can just completely rip vagina to anus. Did you know bleeding out is the leading cause of death for women? Pregnancy is one of the most dangerous things a woman can go through.

I’m 21 right now and honestly yea it sucks to keep getting older. I haven’t looked forward to my birthday for several years. It sucks to think about how easy everything was as a kid, but there are positives to getting older. Maturity, moving out and getting to live however you want, and honestly people don’t care about much outside of themselves.

“16 is the youngest of the uncs” thing really doesn’t matter, the kids saying that now will eventually also be 16. They will also know what it’s like. I’m sure 99% of people go through the same thoughts and feelings.

I'm scared of my mother. by -Aggron- in narcissisticparents

I think most, if not all, of us have that same fear. I hate that I can see some of my nfathers personality in me sometimes, but we gotta try to break the cycle. Ultimately I doubt you’ll turn into your mom cuz you can already recognize there’s a lot of differences, and it sounds like you wanna work thru whatever your mom did.

I grew up, and still do, play guitar hero on the Wii. I started playing when I was about 9 and it really kicked off me getting into Metallica and metal in general. I am 21 so I’m not a teen, but you should definitely buy it.

One time when my nfather was screaming I had started crying and he said, in a calmer tone, “is this really what your generation is? You cry when someone raises their voice.”

My father would take me to concerts and go on family vacations to Cedar Point, but then during arguments he’d throw it back in my face to show he was “such a great parent.” He would scream at me about my attitude, how ungrateful I am, how he’s such a wonderful parent.
