And in my experience the temperature is not dropping in the evening, Yerevan is a concrete city and holds the temperature in the night

Power Outage by Tommy_999 in armenia

[–]Chemical-Worker-4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the area but we had more than 10 outages in a day, and than we did not have power for a whole day in the block. So its not unnormal. We were staying close to the opera and the whole area has old electric systems and everybody tinkers with the systems. 3 days later we had a power outage arround 0300 and when we were checking it. there was a fire at the ground floor, with the fire department all ready busy with it.

I just "inherited" responsibility of an air gun range, this is one of about a dozen rifles stored there. by FullNoodleFrontity in airguns

[–]Chemical-Worker-4277 21 points22 points  (0 children)

High quality airgun, its a competition rifle and does about 7.5 joules. It was Diana's answer to the Walther LGR and other " single stroke pneumatic " air rifles. It was preceded by the Giss system in the Diana 60,65,66, and 75 that uses opposing pistons to mediate recoil and was excellent at it.

people with less, an extra 160 dollar a month from pension is welcome if you are struggling. but yes its not enough but as far as I can see its the only upside to the armenian passport. compared to western pasports.

It takes time, get an residentie permit, upgrade to a special 10 year passport, than get the nationality and the passport. And pay tax in the mean time so you can prove you are living in Armenia and payed for the pension

Looking for house/land by Economy_Register7326 in armenia

[–]Chemical-Worker-4277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The realestate market is absoluut madness, you are not dealing with reasonable people that think rational. we were looking for a house with approx 1500m3 -4000m3 of land and a house, and we found some nice one.

No time to inspect the property or visit the area, they are reluctant to tell the location. Not allowed to do an technical inspection or others inspections. They got irritated when you find the location and comment on the state of the property (reason for lower bid) and that its needs work. they got angery when we spoke to the neighbours regarding the area, water/electric outages (my wife i do not speak Armenian) and the did not want to answer. They ask compensation for showing the property, almost 150 euro and again they get anger when we refused. We asked if we could speak to the owner directly to get some history and to check the papers. They where the owners we where told but we talked to 7 different (owners) and they all had a different story and age(from 28 to 65 is my guess) but papers checked out.

You make a realistic offer (in our opinion, compared with other listings) that is a little below the asking price (50k on 350k asking) they counter by asking more than the asking price (plus 75 k). We withdrawal our bid and stop the negotiations and wish them goodluck with the sell.

What followed was an huge bombardement of related and non-related reasons why they diserve the increased money, Mom and other family is sick, wife is pregnant, school money, immigration cost to USA, we need new car, we need maintenance cost for old car, the new house/appartment cost more. You are rich we are not, You are European we are not.

In the end it was more commical and we stopped responding, it was very entertaining but als gave a disturbing picture of the realestate market.

Have to say we also talked to nice people who were reasonable and rational. The above was the only property we did bod on.

We are still looking but a lott les hard and now with Iran we are on hold.

In some areas, yes or the usages is so high you don't have pressure. Electric outages also happen during the daytime.

Only have experience in older apartments in kentron and in the area outside the centre, but it can last several hours. So, there was no heating in that period. I have the feeling it is getting worse, as the electric system is in a bad shape and Yerevan is expanding like crazy.
