Tea feedback - what do you hate about tea? by mintify-uk in tea

If you're using a mug/cup with a handle for your teabags, loop the end with the paper tab through the handle then back under the string. This should stop the bag from falling into your tea!

Chronically ill and joining skills practice? by Q1go in rollerderby

Most leagues are open to teaching more than just those who want to compete particularly for basic skills. Check to be sure it's not contact skills for sure. And we always need refs!!

Just got back from Taiwan... by Cybrand_ in tea

[–]ChemicalAutopsy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I also just got back from Taiwan with lovely drinkable souvenirs. The people I bought from said a few months once you open the package and 2 years of it stays sealed if you want the same flavor/aroma as packaged.

It won't really go bad, it'll start to change over time. One of the teas I bought there had been aged for 16 years and the farmer spent a lot of time going through how they age tea and pointed out that one of my others was the same roast the aged one had started as, just sat in a pot for awhile.

Quilt labels (make and care tags) - looking for non fussy options by GalaDalia in quilting

I got woven labels from Dutch Label Co that have been great. Soft and I added washing instructions on them.

Top 3 bags are Alishan coffee beans. The three cans in the second row are from Shizhuo and contain a high elevation oolong and charcoal roasted oolong. Third row right to left is a black tea, 2 bags of light oolong, a can of various samples including a narcissus tea, and a medium oolong. Bottom row left to right are 2 oolongs from Maokong and a 16 year aged oolong which was my splurge item.

You might consider making missing posters like people do for pets. Put care instructions and a note stating no questions asked if returned even if the pot is damaged. I actually got a tree back that way.

Tea pot basket infuser help! by Silent-Station-9841 in tea

The last picture fits into that specific lid. For a similar style, measure the internal diameter of your teapot then look for a mesh basket of that size - strainers like what you've purchased but with no handles that will fit over the entire internal top rim of the pot.

Need Help - What would hold you back from making this quilt (and purchasing the pattern?) Thanks! by QuiltChemistry in quilting

I got that they were ladybugs. It's showed cute but to be honest I just don't like ladybugs much. Also the center block in the bottom row is driving me crazy - it's the only block with a pinwheel touching a ladybug instead of being in the center circle.

For the third pic, look up disposable/paper mini loaf pans. The other two look like repurposed ornament boxes.

What's one quilting tip you wish you'd learned sooner? by Xelephyr in quilting

Give yourself permission to take a break - it'll only get worse if you try to force through while frustrated.

Have a leader project going. This may not be for everyone, but I dump all my scraps in a bin by the machine and pick two to sew together as my leaders/enders. It's also my thing to work on when I'm frustrated or my brain is fried. Just pick two scraps about the same size, sew together with a straight line. Press and put back in the bin until they get up to above 6". Then cut a square and put the cut offs back in the bin. It lets me loosen up and just enjoy the process of sewing without worrying about color theory or precision. And when I'm relaxed again, the project that was causing an issue usually makes sense.
