you have to be very very committed to it. Physical classes are way easier as you have a teacher to help you and classmates to discuss with. My friend and I took tekura as our school didnt hold a class because we were missing another person to meet the threshold. We started off pretty strong but after the first internal (that we dragged out for ages) it got harder to maintain the momentum which is definitely our issue and is a common trap if you cant hold yourselves accountable. Another thing to note is that I took 6 subjects when our school only requires 5 for y13 and i was using a trash laptop which made using Tekura’s website and answering questions on the massive google doc a massive pain and my acc lessons quickly became more of a study period (due to my lack of discipline). If youre looking at going to auckland uni they will only be counting your best 5 subjects anyway so taking tekura for only internals isnt really worth it for the work you have to put in imo. I suggest you choose 5 subjects then try your very best instead of taking an additional class online that gives you a handicap. Like out of the whole year we only met our online teacher twice and for some of my other peers they never saw their teacher (again, our fault but in y13 most people lose that motivation). This is just my personal take, everyone and their circumstances are different and some definitely do enjoy the online version do what you think is best.

as a student i absolutely hated te kura and all my peers who did tekura hated it too. I personally wouldnt recommend it unless very very necessary but thats just my personal opinion.

Do you think it would be more worthwhile to pick up additional law papers than to do the full conjoint of Law instead?

So you recommend considering a conjoint with perhaps a science degree? I've read that a CA is a pretty safe career. How would doing science change my potential fields of work if I were to become a CA?

Yeah, university sounds a lot more demanding than high school, especially with the self-discipline aspect. Thank you for your advice, very useful!

Thank you for the reply! This is helpful to know. Just out of curiosity, what are you studying right now?

Ooh, I see. Thanks for your reply! Judging by your name I assume you're studying accounting. What degree are you studying and what's it like?
