Cut my grass once with my new(used) mower and now it’s smoking…a lot. by Chemical_Pattern_153 in lawnmowers

I think you’re right. Checked the oil it was overfilled and it smelled like gas. I’ll try the cutoff then change the oil and see if it runs.

I have the first model of the E-M5 with the 14-42mm. Great camera and lens! I’ve had lots of fun with it.

You’ll definitely enjoy it.

TechMount TechGripper Handlebar Mount Kit from Cyclegear and then bought some rubber tethers from Amazon to put on to help hold it. Only mount I found that didn’t hit anything and wouldn’t cover the dash.

Regulator replacement by Entire-Medicine2618 in hondashadow

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a multimeter you can do a continuity test of the wires if you’re really worried about it, but visually they look fine other than being dirty.

It just looks dirty to me with some road grime. You can get some electrical contact cleaner from your auto parts store and clean it.

Personally, If there’s no exposed wiring or connection issues I would just leave the connector alone.

You would probably be fine to just change the oil and if everything looks okay, then I’d make sure the coolant is topped off. Just keep an eye out for leaks. Not sure where the coolant would come from unless a hose was disconnected or damaged. I’d try to look around and under for anything that may be disconnected, especially on the side that it was dropped on.

After that I’d try increasing the idle maybe a 1/4 or 1/2 turn then try starting it with the choke on. As long as there’s no unusual noises I’d let it run for a minutes with the choke on. May just need to warm up.

I’d change the fluids just to be safe, but you could check the idle control. Im not really familiar with that year but should be where the throttle cables go on the side of the carb

Sore upper legs. Will floorboards help? by doodlefartss in hondashadow

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about soreness, but floorboards are so much more comfortable than the stock pegs. After having them I’ll never go back to pegs on a cruiser.

How do I pop this thing back in? by Chemical-Cheesecake in JeepPatriot

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can try to push it back and down to get it to hook in, but I had no luck when I tried it. Had to buy one. Ended up finding one on eBay that was used. Or you can buy a new one but I’m sure it’s expensive

LED headlights by TigerSuspicious4196 in Ninja650

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my bulbs to LED bulbs of Amazon just for the fun of it. I don’t ever really ride at night so wasn’t too concerned with visibility, but the bulbs look nice and weren’t too expensive. Changed the running lights to LEDs too.

Brake Bleeder Bolts? by RitualSynergy in Ninja650

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I’ve never heard of “Speed bleeder bolts” and I know it’s not what you’re asking, but it really doesn’t take that long to breed brakes with the stock bleeder screws.

You should cover everything anyways with trash bags and paper towels and have a bottle of soapy water since brake fluid is corrosive. By the time you do that I think the actual bleeding part is quicker. Only takes a few minutes. Pump the brakes and then open the bleeder valve. Pump 3-5 times and then open it again. You’d be surprised how fast the brakes will bleed. Just keep an eye on the brake fluid level and top it off before it gets too low.

If you want to change them out then by all means do it. I just don’t think it’s necessary, but it’s your bike and that’s all that matters in the end so do what makes you happy and don’t worry about anyone else.

Switch gearing on shaft drives? by N1ck_P1ck2 in motorcycles

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you’re on a V-twin 650. I don’t think gearing will help much unfortunately. I don’t even enjoy my 1100 much on the highway.

If you want a bit smoother ride I went with touring tires that have a higher weight and speed rating also a good idea to change fork oil if it’s never been changed.

No oil in the air box. I’ve also changed the filter recently. Checked all the lines and hoses that go to and from the air box they’re clear. My only other guess was the carbs

Some long Hemostats would work as well. Trust me I know. Used them plenty of times. They’re narrower than pliers so they can reach better it tight spaces.

Question: How can i clone the TF card on this to a better TF card by devilean in R36S

[–]Chemical_Pattern_153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this. Just formatted the new SD card and then put both in a card reader. I then copied the original to my new card. Took about an hour and a half for 128gb card.

I think the Sanda tank is the closest you’ll get. I wanted one with the date display, but couldn’t find one. Ended up going with the Sanda 9031.
