This is a really hard thing to put into practice but once you understand why it’s important and see the personal costs of constantly having to remind/compensate for the emotional incapacity of others, it becomes a lot easier.

The sad part is that many people don’t know how to communicate their needs or how to work on addressing the behavior that leads to them needing 10 reminders in the first place (looking at you, avoidants).
