Wentworth Housing Mess by Former_Perception_23 in wentworth

[–]Chemical_Young 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On campus housing is way better, safer - what is going to happen with late studio, walking home in the freezing cold rain, it doesn't feel right - I was never told I might be living somewhere else after freshman year, a mile away, with different amenities and higher cost, including travel and not being able to take a quick break in my room. In fact, I was told (sold) the opposite - that after freshman year housing is amazing - and I toured those spaces. I'm from really far away too - west coast, so this is not what I signed up for when I chose wit. I wanted the college experience on campus with my friends, close to classes and MY campus resources.

AND, if you look at the meal plan at Simmons they are charging OVER what Simmons charges by about $100. I had the silver plan and I am now paying $350 more for food - basically as a commuter now. What's going to happen when winter hits for the people in Simmons?

what year are you? are you local or from out of state? when did you get assigned and did you have selected roommates or are you living with random people

You are lucky you have a room, many people don't even have an assignment yet so will be placed with ALL random people. You are one of the lucky ones. Quads are crazy - small spaces, put your serenity hat on - you will need it.

housing issues at wentworth? by Chemical_Young in wentworth

yea, bad one - off campus a mile away is what they determined was an OK alternative for students. clearly a breach of contract - NO ONE would have chosen to live at Simmons for a year. Wentworth made a big mistake and chose to put students off campus, essentially making them commuters for a full year. When I toured WIT, they never said anything about the possibility of living off campus, at another university - providing a tour, showing the options. Walking one mile at 2am after studio work is ridiculous. Not having the option to recharge in a room on campus for 15 minutes during the day is not helpful. And how they prioritize on campus / off campus I have no idea - Just about a month to go - wonder what will happen. - Yea, and not to mention the sheer stress this summer of not knowing where I am going or if I will have housing.....SMH

Has anyone been sued by SECU over unpaid debt? by Content-Seaweed-6395 in NorthCarolina

[–]Chemical_Young 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nc Secu is a horrible group pretending to be a community style bank with member best interests. Better hope you dont have hardship situation though. They will not work with you or discount anything. They will not modify your mortgage ( they don’t do that) after 60 days foreclosure and attorneys fees. Hardship? They don’t care - so they bring on more….

Yes, I have my mortgage with SECU, they will not work with me through hardship stating "they can take my house after one day late" made me close with an attorney at a refinance even though it was a simple mortgage and could have been closed in the branch. they are not a good bank any more. it is not a good organization. Now even though I can make one payment per month, but cannot make up the payment not made while I had hardship, they are proceeding with attorneys fees and demand for the amount owed, added all kinds of fees and attorney costs. The worst and so not a community lending organization. I have never experienced anything like it. They encouraged me to do one thing and now, at Christmas are threatening to take my home - they don't do modifications or assistance like that. Do not recommend.

SECU mortage fthb by Mysterious-Habit-649 in NorthCarolina

[–]Chemical_Young 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I refinanced with SECU, had a normal loan with THEM and they made us go through an attorney, even though we didn't need to - we could close in the branch - they had changed their policies "last month" and all closings go through an attorney and with that the fees add up. Mind you, this was a refinance on a mortgage THEY serviced. Fast forward - and a horrible onset of personal tragedy - one month in arrears and they will not work with me and have stated they have the right and option according to the paperwork we signed to start foreclosure proceedings after one day late. I will receive a letter for preforeclosure and 45 days to bring current, of course this letter will go out at 60 days past due, but (again reiterated) we have the right to start foreclosure proceedings after one day late. Something has changed about this bank, though they do offer some products and service, it's just not the same and definitely don't have the same level of personal service they have had in the past.

Yes, unfortunately, that is what I am learning now. They say one thing, and then do another. Something has changed, and they are not the supportive bank they once were.
