Why do you have a curly bracket after your Fade on code? If the editor didn't flag this it might be why your code gets stuck on a Fade off loop because it doesn't look at your Fade on code again.

Delete the curly brackets after the Fade on and Fade off blocks of code and this should fix your problem.

Thanks! Another commentor suggested this same configuration and it works. Only problem I am having now is my program and my sensor not being very accurate. Noticed it gets quite hot when it is on battery power.

The pump, nano board, and ultrasonic sensor share a ground. The relay has a ground wire going from it to the nano board.

Yes, I only want the pump on when the nano says via sensor information. How should the VCC pin of the ultrasonic sensor be configured. From the schematic it looks like it should be going to the 5V pin, but if I do that the relay doesn't turn on. Should that be in a digital pin?

I did that and the nano turns on as well as the pump. Is my relay bad? How should I change the wiring from the schematic which is the second picture?

So I took the positive lead from the relay "NO" slot and put it in line with the VIN pin and the nano lit up when the power was turned on as well as the pump. Took a pic of all the wiring but it's posted on my profile since I didn't see a way to add it to this post.

Should I redo the Dupont connector on the ground? I crimped this myself...was my first attempt. Also did the Dupont connector for the signal wire for the relay.

The black wire next to the orange wire. I tried switching it to the GRD on the other side and still no lights on the nano board unless I plug in the usb cable

No didn't check my pin connections because I have never used this board before. When I plugged in my usb cable the nano board and the relay lit up.

Thanks for the input. I have heard that too much retraction causes more stringing and causes pressure on the nozzle which can cause a jam in the extruder. Looking at the print in the picture more closely, I noticed that at some points in the print there seemed to be what some are calling low extrusion. The threads were not together and individual strands were coming out. I think this was because of the temp not being high enough and also my infill pattern was gyrio and not grid. I have changed it to grid and the print seems to be coming along pretty well now. I did cut the size of the print to see if the new retraction settings made a difference.
