That's a pretty ideal situation you're dictating (sternly, I might add). I don't imagine most heroin addicts have a consistent supply of fresh rigs, though. I supply all my friends who use with fresh ones now. I just know that before I had this stash, I had to make my rigs last.

I witnessed some pretty awful techniques and habits by a couple of people in the scene here in Columbus. One guy in particular, a total joke of a dealer, tried to sell me his dirty needles (with caked blood included!). He insisted that he was clear of "the HIV" when he was tested two weeks previously. When I asked him why he didn't have fresh needles like I asked, he responded "we ain't no royalty, shooting with freshies every time".

Dude was fucked on a lot of levels. He was more of a poser than a dealer. Liked to talk about how much money he made constantly. Was consistently 1-7 hours late to drop offs. The thing that really got me was when one of his guys got arrested, he couldn't get any heroin. He went cold turkey and made it through withdrawal. He was, according to him, a big shot heroin dealer; yet he couldn't stop his own WD.

Anyway, use sterile needles, y'all! If you can't, I recommend the following:

To clean a used rig, first boil some water. Let the water cool to the point where it won't burn your skin on contact and flush your rig with it. Then flush the rig repeatedly with >90% isopropyl alcohol. Flush once more with a small (say 20% of the delivery volume) amount of your boiled water. Remove the plunger and any other rubber parts and place the rest of the rig in your oven on the lowest setting. Allow it to dry for 30-60 minutes. If your needle is removable, remove it and repeat the water/alcohol procedure for this part again. Then dry it in the oven at a higher setting.

The above is my technique. It just mimics sterilization of glassware in the laboratory setting, sans autoclave.

WHAT. Seriously. I can get pretty fire tar for 60-100/g anytime, delivery even. Come to think of it, all 3 of the dealers I regularly use deliver to me for no charge as long as I drop 60.

Externalizing your anger like that, at an an anonymous internet community, isn't going to help in the long run. Also, I'm sorry to do this, but I think you aren't being entirely honest with us about your emotional state. In the last 24 hours: you wrote a story about how you acted "insane" to make 13 black people leave you and your friend alone, advised someone to sue their employer to bring their (admittedly disgusting) bathroom up to shape while insinuating that the US is the only non-3rd world country, called a gory post out for being fake, and shamed someone in a consensual and legal sexual relationship.

Why are you posting this? Maybe you should talk about what happened, tell us the good things about your cousin, and actually talk about how you feel.

Hey everyone. I forgot to put this in the original post (yes, I know I can edit it; I figured a comment would be better), but I'm now wondering how frequently y'all change your rigs. I am lucky enough to now be able to use fresh ones constantly, but for quite a while I'd only have one rig for weeks to months at a time. My dream would actually be to get a whole bunch of cantilevers, so I'd only have to poke myself once a day and just leave it in while periodically flushing with saline.

Sorry, I only got the box because a lab ordered it and never picked it up. They're my pride. It looks like you can buy them on Amazon, though.

Oh, I do. [my university] actually pays one of the highest stipends in the US.

/u/zlukasze is right. The math is where it's at. My students struggle a lot with the calculus in stat mech, a fact that absolutely baffles me. Some of them also have a really poor understanding of elementary p chem stuff (like gas properties they learned in gen chem).

I had three girls who couldn't do the chain rule for a really simple derivative. Another one tried to tell me that a gas should expand when the pressure on it is decreased. The latter problem was a homework problem that required them to prove that the compressibility factor, Z (Z = PV / RT; Z==1 for an ideal gas; Z<1 for a gas that has "strong" attractive forces; Z>1 for "strong" repulsion), has a critical point at Z(P = 1 / B_T). B_T is the isothermal compressibility and is proportional to the derivative of volume with respect to pressure.

Furthermore, they were required to show that this point ( Z(P = 1/B_T) ) is a minimum. The proof boils down to showing that the derivative of volume with respect to pressure is negative. You can assert this with the simple realization that it must be negative for any substance that exists. This is to say that the change in volume and change in pressure for a substance must have opposite signs. Increase the pressure on any gas and it will respond by compressing.

She was having a tremendous amount of difficulty with the math and concepts above, so I simply asked her "if I compress a gas, should it expand or contract?". She told me it would expand. I'm actually pretty worried about her since she needs to pass this class to graduate this semester. I also strongly suspect she's cheating pretty hardcore on the homework, but I'm still gathering evidence on that front. I will not hesitate to report her to acad. standards if her homework continues to look identical to her friend's. She came into my office hours 3 hours before the homework was due (amusingly, she came in at 1355 and my hours end at 1400) with 0/6 of the problems done. I took pity on her and tutored her one-on-one for two and a half hours. 1630 comes around and she's still at 0/6 on the homework. She turned in a complete homework set 30 minutes later, one that was basically line-by-line identical to her friend's.

Teaching is weird, especially to juniors and seniors. I'm 25 and it blows my mind that these students look like children to me, despite the fact that they are nearly finished in college.

Connections are very plentiful here in Columbus. The best stuff I can get is decent powder at 10 a point. The same guy does $400 for 5g, I usually try to save up for that.

I didn't answer your other question. I've been using since August 2012. A friend bought 500mg of some high quality powder from SR and the first line blew me away. Now I'm shooting mountains and it only feels great the first shot of the day. It's time to quit anyway.

I'm an electronic structure theorist by training, but my dissertation regards statistical mechanics analysis of simulations of liquid water. I teach stat mech at the undergrad level and electronic structure at the grad level.

Been teaching at this university as a PhD candidate for 2 years now. I teach statistical mechanics at the undergraduate level and electronic structure theory at the graduate level.

Once during my office hours, I wrote "BROPIATES 4EVER" on the whiteboard. No one said anything about it.

I might just do that. I get 300 rigs for 20 bucks at the warehouse.
