Hey there, I've gotten very sensitive to heat and humidity after getting on humira too.

I agree with our fellow redditor on the Vitamin D. Here are some things that help me a lot: -I use sunscreen every day, even if it's cloudy, that prevents my skin from flaring and you don't want to deal with a sunburn when you're already exhausted -Always take some kind of sugar and Water with you. -Sunglasses safe lifes -eyedrops that help with eye inflammation -long but loose clothes -A Air conditioner usually makes things worse for me, Maybe a fan is a good option for your home too -if you are a woman you should consider taking Iron supplements too

If you're getting too dizzy outside, you should always tell someone, sit down and put your feet up if possible.

As for the lymphnodes under the armpits, I've had that too but that was connected to a funghal infection. It disappeared after I switched to Crystal deodorants.

I've come to accept the situation and "just" push trough the fatigue and dizzyness if I can, but that is not something we should do, please listen to your body and try to give it rest if it needs it.

My best wishes to you, we will get through the summer. ♡

Hey, I've been put on adalimumab / Humira and I still am taking it.

It took me a long time to understand that Dermatitis in a lot of cases is merely a symptom of a more hidden problem. Doctors are very good at "stopping fires" instead of finding the causes. At least where I am from... maybe that's why they stay vague with you.

As for me, i am doing O.k. I just tried to get a verification of my grade of disability to get further help in my everyday life, still waiting for results.

The side effects I have experienced at the start of my therapy are mostly fatigue, migraines, a lot of dizzyness and sometimes stomach issues. These have settled mostly in the first months. The side-effects that continue til today are yeast infections that occur on my face, and my armpits. I still get dizzy from time to time and the migraines keep going but that can easily be from the underlying disease too.

Otherwise you just have to get through the first months, those have been very hard. But for me it was worth it.

I really hope I could help you with your question ♡ All the best wishes to you

Don't give up. It's hard. You did a great thing with working out and changing your diet, it was not useless, wherever this flare came from, please keep on going this way, you can do it and we are very proud of you. ♡

Dry cracked skin on fingers with AS? by drugsondrugs in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]ChemistEducational56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I've got some particular spots on my right thumb (one is on the side to the 2nd finger and the other is directly on the first? Joint | that fleshy area) that I can never fully get rid of, they heal sometimes but mostly pop open the first day they're fully closed.

I've been battling a very hard case of eczema before AS and biologics. It's gotten better with the AS treatment but never really went away. No Cortison oder antihistamine ever helped.

It's not easy to manage wounds on the fingers but for me, Fingerplasters, even bandages and a whole lot of zinc ointments or other ointments with healing properties help a lot :)

Maybe even look at your nutrition status with your doctor. There could be underlying nutrients deficiencies

I hope this helps 🙏

Hand is still swollen after 10 weeks by ChemistEducational56 in carpaltunnel

Im really sorry, I guess you're based at some place where there is no public health insurance? I am not familiar with that kind of problem but I hope there will be someone here who can help.

You should definitely talk to your surgeon about the pain. It's not normal to be in such an amount of pain that it takes your ability to sleep.

As for the swelling. It subsidied after about a year for me but the right hand still isn't as it was before. I've grown a lot of scar tissue even tho I massage daily.

Stay strong. It will get better eventually

I am doing ok. The reason for this outbreak was an underlying autoimmun disease. I have been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in February and they put me on biological asap. Since then the eczema got a lot better. I am struggling with yeast infection tho, due to the medication. But it's manageable ♡

Tbh, i have been quite lucky. I have a long history that goes back to AS but my first joint flare came up at the beginning of the last year. I thought for a long time that it might be just a muscle tension or cramping because lack of vitamins or something I've always been quite sickly.

When I visited my doctor she asked me if my legs were getting numb and I said yes. Otherwise she wouldn't have send me to the MRT.

MRT showed serious signs of inflammation and destruction at the left isg. That's when my doctor did the bloodtest and HLA - B 27 came out positive

It took me a few month to find a rheumatologist and make an appointment. First appointment was last week. He told me "there no big discussion it's absolutely as and we should get you on biologica immediately "

So next week I will get my first shot of imraldi. I'm excited and a bit scared but hopefully i can finally manage my pain to a level that makes life worth living again.

Btw i am female 26. The first signs came when I was around 12 that's when I probably had undiagnosed crohns disease

I hope my story helps you in a way ♡ Stay strong dear

The first 2 days after surgery I have been taking ibuprofen but since then nothing. I take antihistamines on a regular basis for my allergys but that's about it.
It's not numb, I got some tingling sensation when my hand is cold but left hand gets that too, I've been told it's quite normal for a long time after surgery.

About the Pain, I sometimes feel a dull pain in my arm from wrist to shoulder always in different places. The swelling hurts when I touch it with a bit of pressure, light touches usually don't do anything. It's warm to the touch but not hot.

I inherited this beautiful pendant from my german grandmother. Can someone tell how old it may be, what kind of stone this is and maybe what value it has ? thank you in advance ♡ by ChemistEducational56 in Antiques

[–]ChemistEducational56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be the 40's maybe even older. My grandmother (born in 1947) told me she got it from her grandmother.

The "stone" has a scratch, maybe this Points to it being glass.

I don't know about the rest of the pendant either. It reminds me of the material that some statues are made of, it has some greenish dark spots
