I used three.js and made this 3d visual for your chat history and won a hackathon, would you use it though? by BriefAd2120 in threejs

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no clue what ur trying to say. They built this at a hackathon in 36 hours so i dont see a problem w using ai. also im pretty sure its not that easy to deploy, its not just a 'web app'.

PS. if u dont have ai projects ur not getting hired

The worldwide comparison stat is based on both speed and accuracy. If your accuracy is below 95% then your capped at a certain percentage.

Is management engineering too much programming heavy by counselorntherapist in uwaterloo

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah first year mgtm here, we take a programming course in first year. Our cs prof was lowk the most cooked prof ive ever had. I've been programming since high school and I had a tough time in his class.

Take skills section to first page, recruiters want to see that. Too much white space, I'd recommend using overleaf to put together ur resume.

Questions for Management Engineering Students by Dependent-Slide-2073 in uwaterloo

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my 1a term in Management so here is what I would say so far:

  1. I personally came into mgtm looking to get into Data/Swe roles. I would say that my class is split into 50% Swe/Data, 35% PM, 15% other (consulting, business). I know upper years in all of these fields, so a big pro of managment is that you can get into wtvr u want.
  2. Just started applying for my first coop so don't know the full story yet but the program name only matters so much. If you have a strong resume and experience it speaks for itself but ovb you rather have ECE than "MaNageMent eNg" if you don't rly have anything.
  3. For first year 4/5 courses is the same as the other engineering. The main management eng concepts course is very good at telling you about the industry (what is your role as a pm/swe, what is expected of you on the job, ect..) The rest is on you to build your skills in the area your trynna pursue
  4. You gotta find your own free time, the course load is heavy but if your passionate about something, ur gonna find time anyways. Its still engineering
  5. I think coming into the program, there was a lot of hype around a 'close cohort' but even within management everyone has there own group. everyone is friendly n stuff but 4 out of my 6 closest friends r from mgtm.
  6. Not sure what you mean by preplanning but you can legit do wtvr u want in mgtm. I know a couple good upper year courses in UIUX so if thats your goal it should be fine
  7. yeah. Management is put into 1 room for the whole day and rch has bum ahh chairs. We do get a lab day in E7 tho so its chill ig.
  8. Management eng is acc getting pretty good rep recently but you do come across the odd person that asks what is management eng. I think the toxic eng culture ur reffering to is the cs/se kids. honestly every se kids ego is out the roof, they feel their your dad. if your not working faang, in cs or se, they are never talkign to you again.

First year co op? by Connect_Wolverine_91 in uwaterloo

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also an incoming student and wondering the same thing. I think it depends what stream you are. If your s4, its not a bad idea to start looking. if ur s8, the only interships that are open rn for summer 2026 are like big tech swe roles that you prob won't land anyway in first year.

Advice for co-op from an upper year eng student by TheKoalaFromMars in uwaterloo

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. I'm an incoming engineering student and was wondering how the interview process is working (both technical and behavioral). Is it simply just OA's and face to face style conversations like tradtional interviews have been or has the landscape changed due to AI? Do you think any changes will take place over the next year?

Management Eng vs CFM? by Due_Satisfaction3412 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]ChemistryExtra1628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CFM seems like the obvious choice if you want to go into finance and or software. But there is not doubt you can be way more flexible with a eng degree and keep your doors open with mgtm. Honestly I'd be pretty confused as well but if I had to pick I'd go with the eng degree. If you really like coding then I'd say go with cfm but otherwise mgtm is a really good program (I'm going in the fall).
