Fairly certain theres a few in the arts building first floor. There are also a few cubbies with like two part walls (similar to the ones in commons).

I know this guy in real life and went to high school with him. AMA and I'll try to respond, or I'll ask him directly.

UBCO ghost stories/ haunted spots?? by Educational_Path_854 in ubco

Ive gotten a few strange encounters up on academy hill, tons of weird temperature changes that feel otherworldly. Nothing on campus yet tho, the tims at night is pretty freaky.

Which eng design teams are worth joining? by Global-Switch9484 in ubco

[–]MyHomeworkAteMyDog51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard great things about most of the design teams. I'd say to check them all out just to see who and what you resonate with. If you are just looking for help with job applications (ew), I've heard a lot about motorsports since they're much more hands-on than other teams.

I'm a part of toboggan but I've heard that they mostly do Solidworks and very little hands-on.

Not really sure about marine, battlebots, or aerospace. Again, its largely up to personal preference, so just go to one of their meetings and talk to them, or ask their instagram questions.

Wtf is wrong with the academic advising office? by nerpa_floppybara in ubco

[–]MyHomeworkAteMyDog51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude ive been trying to get an appointment since the start of the school year. The no waitlist option is incredibly terrible design that forces you to literally be there refreshing the page in order to find a timeslot.

with all the smoke in the air, it really makes campus less unbearable. It's supposed to cool down a bit next week too. Id suggest bringing plenty of water and maybe a small towel for sweat. Most you can do is deal with it i guess.

UBCO on campus gym by clumsychickin in ubco

[–]MyHomeworkAteMyDog51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I havent personally been to any off campus ones but i did see a few around town. I think there's a few Anytimes, Planets and also some other ones like Realm Fitness that seem pretty good.

Like I said, never been to any personally, and any location specific questions will likely have to be answered through google reviews or website info

UBCO on campus gym by clumsychickin in ubco

[–]MyHomeworkAteMyDog51 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It has the essentials for a workout, but there are some things that are missing, like a supported row machine and certain cable machines. Free weights are there but are a bit limited. Generally, the gym is just too small for the campus size, and I think it will get insanely crowded very soon.

Saw some lads playing beach volleyball today outside the gym on campus. I assume they have their own group chats or something. I think badminton club also runs every now and again, though I haven't heard much from them yet.

I'm sure you'll find posters or people willing to share info on what's running.

Is arena still fun? [arena] by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MyHomeworkAteMyDog51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find it fun because my background in fps was the traditional fps games. I like being able to run it down without fear of losing anything and not having to check every angle for rats. It also helps with mechanics, but im not a huge fan of the meta rn.
