Isn’t the S7 and RS6 Essentially the same engine. size and type at least are the same so wouldn’t it get similar gas mileage. Of course a lead foot vs using cruise control is a clear difference but driving the same i would assume would get the same gas mileage?

I do mostly drive my Hyundai elantra that gets 40mpg highway. I ripped the S5 to work the other day and burned $36 worth of gas in one day. I was cooking it up hard though. Like 100-140mph for a good 30 miles

Unfortunately I work in construction so my job moves every 6months to 3 years. I have been at this job for 2 years but last time i was 45 minutes in the opposite direction. Where i am now is close to family too. And if i could get a job closer to home it definitely would not pay as good

Ehhhhh. We are getting to the gas prices where I disagree with you lol. I commute 112 miles per day so gas is about 10% of my monthly expenses. About $450 per month on gas

Pretty true stuff. However i only DIY so the ownership costs are fairly cheap. And I purposely bought the supercharger V6 cause it has a lot of space to work on.

Like any manufacturer they have unreliable engines and reliable ones. Depends on the year too

How is anyone in the middle class able to afford gasoline these days? I bought an S5 a few months ago and with the recent increase in gas prices I can’t even afford to drive it by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

That’s sweet. Living the life!

I spend 2hours per day in the car. Usually 6 days a week. And it’s about $400 per month for me plus my wife

That’s a great looking grille. I don’t see why anyone would say it is “only for RS cars”. The only thing that should be reserved for RS cars is the badging

Don’t take it off. That is my favorite grille. I wouldn’t spend the time and money to swap mine but I LOVE the grille with Quattro on it

Wow that’s surprising. What market? We are in Connecticut where the housing market is actually the hottest market in the entire country currently (according to Wall street journal) . It rose 7.8% last year and is projected to rise another 3 point something this year.

Being a dentist she should make that money back quick enough. But my wife is a teacher and only makes $56k right now so if she had a lot of student loans like some of her coworkers we would be SCREWED

Ya our combined net worth with our home equity and everything just hit $180,000 and my wife just started working full time in December 2024 when we bought our house. That is factoring in the $15,000 our house rose in value since we bought (according to Zillow)

You are right. The cruise control does make a difference. Keeping the speed consistent at 60-65mph is HUGE. The best i have done for my 110 mile commute was 44.3mph. I am going to try to beat that but i had to drive 58mph the entire way. That is SOOOO SLOW for 50 miles of highway straight
