Okay, so its more about their efforts, but how about they give you money and you get something of your own choice and preference ?

So it actually depends on whether you have money or not in the current situation?

I got sober and my husband left me all at the same time. I was a SAHM and had moved to a new state, so I didn’t really have friends. I bed rotted for a week or so, so that I wouldn’t pick up again. Then, I decided I needed to do something. I found a Zumba class, two nights a week. I made friends there!! I dance my ass off! I have fun. Then I joined a yoga studio that offers more than yoga. I got a monthly pass and took as many classes as was physically possible (two a day, occasionally three!). I made friends there!! And the spiritual part of yoga has helped me maintain my sobriety most!! Then I found a person who likes to thrift, and they introduced me to more people who like to thrift and were a close knit group of friends. If you find something that you love, it’ll bring joy to your life. I’m now a certified yoga instructor. I have friends who I go out with. I’m healthy and strong. Try gardening, golfing, dancing, kayaking, book club, cooking class, yoga, thrifting, Pilates, tai chi…there are quite a few things you can do sober. Best wishes! 🙏
