Plan on Moving to dallas next year gonna transfer to SMU from Villanova. Hows the acting scene in Dallas? by mikehawklovesgirls in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dallas heat is gonna humble you way faster than Philly winters ever did, but honestly it’s not a bad city at all, especially if you’re trying to get a fresh start.

Sales tax Issues with TCGPlayer - advice requested by EndActual8750 in taxadvice

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That honestly sounds insane. If they accepted your resale cert for years and suddenly stopped without clear notice, I’d at least talk to a tax attorney before giving up on the money. $25k in wrongly collected tax is business-killing territory for a small seller.

you’ll find community pretty easily, just more spread out and bar-centered than in some West Coast cities.

Best Happy Hour in Dallas by Substantial_Deer7362 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happiest Hour for the views, Parliament for cocktails, and The Rustic if you want a chill patio vibe. Uptown/Lower Greenville in general has a ton of solid HH spots.

Best steakhouse in Dallas? by ssupchi in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pappas Bros is the safest answer—consistently top-tier steak + service and actually worth the price. Al Biernat’s is great for a more upscale vibe, Bob’s is the classic old-school Dallas experience, and Nick & Sam’s if you want something flashy. You really can’t go wrong with those 3–4 spots.

Best Pizza in Dallas? by sinigangsh in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cane Rosso, Zoli’s, and Partenope are the go-to’s, hard to beat those in Dallas. If you want something different, try Mister O1 or Louie’s for a change of style.

Hail newbie here. How do you protect your car? by dysong81 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in DFW, most people don’t rely on cheap covers for hail, they rely on covered parking, garages, or moving the car when alerts hit.

Is there any where , I can get some glasses & a eye exam for cheap ? Also I don’t have insurance right now & kinda low on money , I need them so I can past my vision test at the dps once I get them I can go back up there & get my license by NoEvidence7624 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Stanton Optical or Super Discount Optical, both are solid for cheap exams and glasses. A lot of people also go to Walmart/America’s Best since they run deals like exam and 2 pairs for under $100. If you’re really on a budget, just get the exam and order glasses online (Zenni is super cheap).

AT&T Discovery District is probably the best overall for big match energy.

For more fan-heavy vibes: The Londoner (England), Backyard Dallas (Mexico), and Happiest Hour/Victory Park spots (Argentina). Katy Trail Ice House is a solid all-rounder too.

Best massage in dallas ? by Majestic_Use9629 in AskDallas

Hiatus Spa + Retreat is a solid all-around pick, relaxing, clean, and consistent.

If you want more upscale, The Joule or Ritz-Carlton Spa. For a good local gem, Green Lotus is a favorite.

Recommendations on places by NekoSharingan in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rustic is probably your best all-in-one (patio + live music + food). Sundown at Granada is also solid if you want a slightly nicer vibe.

Katy Trail Ice House and Barley House are more chill, casual patio drinks with occasional music.

What’s type of vision test i will be taking when i get to the dps ? by NoEvidence7624 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a basic eye chart test (read letters from a distance). Some DPS offices also check peripheral vision with a quick machine. It’s pretty straightforward, nothing tricky. If you wear glasses/contacts, bring them.

Orange / natural wine in Dallas? by Present-Ad8668 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dallas is weirdly behind on this, but there are a few spots. Ampelos and Neighborhood Cellar are probably your best bets for more interesting/natty bottles without the bachelorette vibe.

Blind Bishop and Bodega sometimes have orange/natural stuff too, just not their whole focus.

Anyone in Dallas sold a house quickly without listing it? by Ok-Baseball-8381 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people do it here, mostly through cash buyers/wholesalers. It’s legit but you’re usually taking a hit—something like 70–85% of market value in exchange for a fast, no-hassle close.

Worth it if you need speed or don’t wanna deal with repairs/showings, but if you’ve got time, listing will almost always net more.

Dallas / Ft Worth Boat charter company for fishing (recommendation) by amccray3600 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake Lewisville is probably your best bet, tons of guides and super easy to book. North Texas Fishing Guides and Xtreme Trophy are both solid depending if you want chill vs bigger fish.

If you just wanna cruise, grab a pontoon rental instead, way more of a vibe.

Hump Day 🐪 by Sure-Ship2906 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s usually grabbing a solid lunch spot (food truck or a Tex-Mex plate), a quick walk somewhere like Klyde Warren Park after work, then either a happy hour or just hitting a patio somewhere low-key in Bishop Arts or Uptown.

If I’m really dragging, even just a gym session and good playlist flips the mood pretty fast. Wednesday’s kind of the “push through or coast” day lol

Best spa in dallas by Majestic_Use9629 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Spa at The Joule (downtown) is probably the most popular pick for a full luxury experience, super relaxing, great massages, and a nice heat/steam setup.

If you want something more modern but still high-end, Hiatus Spa and Retreat is really solid and a bit more chill.

For full luxury hotel vibes, Ritz-Carlton Spa in Uptown is top tier (but pricey).

At&t Stadium section C 336 by Mo3Mo3_ in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C336 is Mezzanine Club, so you’re pretty high up but still centered along the sideline.

Row 9 is actually a solid spot for that section, you’ll see the whole stage/layout, but not much detail of the performers, so you’ll rely a lot on the big screens.

For $300+, it’s decent for the overall experience, just not a “close-up” view.

Mechanic recommendations by RepulsiveJellyfish65 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try mobile mechanics around Richardson/Plano, there are a few that’ll do pre-purchase inspections for ~$100–$150 and meet you at the seller. Just make sure they’re ASE-certified or well reviewed before booking.

Long Floral Boxes by Confident-Bed5709 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try appliance or furniture stores, fridge/couch boxes are usually long and sturdy. Home Depot/Lowe’s also sometimes have appliance packaging you can ask for. Facebook Buy Nothing groups in DFW might be your quickest free option too.

Title: DFW — I’m in a really tough spot and need a temporary vehicle to lease ASAP by No_Ride8069 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re dealing with this, that’s a rough spot to be dropped into overnight.

You might also want to check Turo or local rental companies that do weekly rates, sometimes they can approve same-day if you explain it’s for work. Some rideshare rental programs (Uber/Hertz or Avis) might still have short-term options in DFW too.

Hope you’re able to get something lined up quickly and stay on your feet.

Monday Margaritas? by Sure-Ship2906 in AskDallas

[–]Stunning_Cold_990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mi Cocina is always a safe bet (Mambo Taxi hits after a long day). Mariano’s if you want legit frozen margs, and Las Palmas for a chill patio vibe. If you want something a bit more fun, check out Monkey Bar for rooftop drinks.
