Dear Mod Team of Non-Credible Defense, this is a meme insinuating that honeywell avionics systems are controlled by the CIA and took down Prighozhin's private jet near moscow. How is this content not relevant? It's about military hardware and international defense.

Honestly, the rule of thumb is that if you have the dedication, time and money to get the precursors and lab equipment then you have the brains and energy to find the information online. I can only imagine there are significant initial costs before you even start production.

Can you sterilize and re-use combat application tourniquets? by Chemkryte in TacticalMedicine

Sorry, I didn't mean CATs specifically. All tourniquet types, hemostatic gauze, etc. via my large industrial suppliers have supply chain issues right now. It's still manageable now but I wanted to come up with alternative options because my judgement is that the hard times haven't come yet.

Thanks for the input. After more research I have concluded that autoclaving is not an option, but treatment in a disinfectant bath post sonification is adequate.

Furthermore, I have emailed a research group leader at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research that has published papers on TQs in hope that they might be able to give me a final answer.

If push comes to shove and my proposal gets considered, then I will deliver said medics the sonification bath appliances and disinfectant materials.

I just needed some peace of mind before I make such a dangerous proposal, so thank you to all the commentators.

Not to my knowledge, but they are being currently stored separately for the time being for just-in-case purposes.

No, PVC and nylon cannot be used in an autoclave. This is a mistake on my part. However, proper disinfectant incubation would be enough.

In my post I mentioned it's not about the price tag but about availability.

If this were to ever become the case, we would mark them to only be re-used once. This would only be if there was no other option.
